that if non christians attack them we are attacking jesus? I think jesus was great. Smart guy with a good heart. But I really get a bit of nausea looking at his followers and I think he would too.
Remember, jesus good, christians bad.

Well trust me dear, if my kids are ugly I will be the first one to complain about it. I will also be bummed if they are dumb. But the worst disappointment would be if they were one of you.

There you have it. Thanks corporate kermit for representing the reprehensible behaivior I speak of so perfectly.
So now I challenge you to reread what you said and then ask yourself, what would jesus say about your statments?

I'm sorry that your experience with Christians has been a negative one. It reminds me of a couple of bumper stickers I've seen. One says, "Dear Jesus, please protect me from your followers," and another quotes Ghandi: "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
Not all Christians are like that. I happen to be Christian, and I'm not trying to shove any of my beliefs down your throat. I'll treat you with the same respect that I would hope to receive from you, even if we disagree on matters of faith and religion. I don't think that would prevent us from being friends and I don't think it means either of us has to trash the other's value systems and beliefs.
I hope you'll have the opportunity to discover that Christians who want to trash non-Christians are actually a minority, even though it doesn't seem like that here on Yahoo! Answers.

If Atheists attack Christians BECAUSE they believe in Jesus, then, I'm sorry, but they are attacking belief in Jesus which is an indirect attack on Jesus Himself.
Also, why do you feel nausea when looking at Christians? The very fact that you do suggests you are unwilling to question your views. I always thought scepticism was at the heart of Atheism.
One more thing. Even if you don't believe in Jesus as God, Jesus is His name and deserves a capital 'J', just like James or Jack.

IF jesus did exist, all he wanted was for us to treat each other with respect and help out regardless of whether it was beneficial.
He died. His followers have had centuries now, millenia even to twist and distort his message to fit their agenda. How many people have died in his name?
In any case, his followers get so worked up when you question them because they too find it difficult to grasp every and all aspects of what the leaders say is righteous. they must counter this by advertising all over this website and throughout the world to all peoples who do not know about christianity in the hopes that if everyone believes what they believe, then they must be correct and rightous.
my solution is to wipe out organized religion entirely and focus on the true root of why each relgion was started; so as to remind each other that we are all connected in some way and that by doing good to each other will equal good being done for ourselves and the greater benefit of our society.

I see what you are saying. But you say you believe in Jesus then you aren't a non christian. You probably don't like the fake Christians that act like they are all that because they go to church.I believe but will never again attended a church because of the way I have been treated in some of them. But I will never quit believing just because of the way other people act.

Don't have an answer, just want to say I agree. I don't think all Christians are bad. But too many of them are and make the rest look bad. A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link and religions are judged by their dumbest members

The dichotomy of your question is astounding.
You say that Jesus and His teachings are worthy of your admiration. Christ Himself has a teaching specifically for you in Mark Chapter 10 and Luke Chapter 18.
I would invite you to read and study them at your leisure.

I don't think that. I think Jesus is plenty capable of standing up to scrutiny. I can agree that some of my fellow Christians take things too personally. I don't think that its good for the faith, or good for getting our message out. But than again guys like me are probably the quiet majority.

I agree with what you are trying to say. Unfortunately alot of religious people feel they are all the special road and only their road will lead to God. I truly think God is going to say..people..listen...what kind of person have you been? Have you been judgemental? Have you acted superior in some way? Have you believed that only your way was the way to Me? He will say all roads lead to Me as long as you have been a good person, helped your brother or sister, tried to leave your mark before you leave this earth. Rid your mind of small minded bigotry and racism. Fill your heart with love and you will find the way to God..

HI Jam,
I would not generalize all Christians into one category any more than I would all Caucasians into one category. They are all people and all have sinned. You are correct about Jesus and WE do agree there. Have a great week.

Don't you think your generalizing now. God is more than just life 2 a christian. Hes everything. They feel that when u attack them you are attacking God because he is part of them. True Children of God turn another cheek when they are hurt, they dont attack. Not all christians are bad, some of them are true. They do not just pretend becuase having a faith these days is a in thing. They live in purity of heart of being a image of God.
