My dog's (Sadie Mae) food is on the recall list. She has been throwing up, drinking alot of water, and urinating alot. All the symtoms that are on the news. My problem is that I am on a fixed income and don't have the money to take her to a vet. Is there anything that I can do for her, other than quit giving her the food, which I have already done. She hasn't thrown up since last week, but she is still drinking alot of water. Does all this mean she is going to die? Please, only serious answers. I live by myself, and she means the world to me.

The only way to find out if your dog has been affected is to find a way to get her to the vet. Proper vet care is all part of pet ownership. Owners need to be prepared for emergencies.Good luck....call your vet and ask if they have a payment plan or offer Care Credit plan.

I want to say that I don't think your dog will die, since she seems to be getting better. However, liver damage is very serious. Only a Vet will be able to say exactly what her condition will be. You should call a Vet and just ask them what you asked us. They'll probably tell you to bring her in, but maybe they'll give you some information over the phone. Also, perhaps if you tell them you are on a fixed income they will work out a payment plan with you. It never hurts to ask.

Since she is drinking lots of water it is a symptom of kidney damage find a way to get to the vet have some bloodtests done, and file a complaint, menufoods will likely offer some financial compensation but veterinary proof is required, death could depend on how severe the damage is though will likely shorten her life expectancy ,and she may need a special diet
at least phone you vet explain about the food and see if they will take payments

Some vets in my area have discounts to seniors. Call your vet and tell them of your concerns, also tell them of your financial circumstances, most vet are willing to work with you and especially now with all the recalls they are very much aware of all the dogs that may become sick from the tainted foods.

If your dog is still eating normally, of course other than the bad food, then she will probably be ok.. but one thing you can probably do for free is call the maker of the dog food and ask them... but, if it has been a week already and the dog is merely thirsty and otherwise normal, I think you are in the clear.. good luck and give her a hug for me..

If the normal health is good, give some time, and the dog will gradually recover through natural resilience: starving helps recovery process, too! The power of your genuine concern, will accelerate the healing process.

Think about it... They drink out of the toilet flushed or not, They eat out of the trash, If there is spoiled food in there they don't care they eat it anyways. They will even eat a dead squirrel. Forgive me but they have been know to even eat there own poop... I seriously doubt that your Dog is going to die. It may get sick but I don't think it will die...

Chances are very high if you don't get it to the vet IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!! a lot of dogs have been saved because their owners took them to the vet RIGHT AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!
