Why do Christians say, "Even if you commited murder but accept Jesus into your heart you will be forgiven."
I have a hard time believing this. These people took an innocent life. Why should they have God's forgivness and get a free pass into heaven because they have "reformed?" Do you honestly think that the Lord will let child rapists and men who murder their pregnant wives into the pearly gates? Why?

So you are saying technically, that if right before Hitler died asked Jesus to spare him and seeked forgiveness he could be in Heaven. So I guess I can just do whatever the hell I want and then ask for forgivenss and all will be well.

Also if a gay man asked for forgiveness for being gay he can be saved too, even though "christains" go on and on about how they will burn in hell and their lifestyle is awful. I don't think that's fair. Let the guy who killed in but not the man who has love in his heart.

Anything goes for this evil group....except if you're gay....but mass murder is ok. In Christianity, you can step over a billion bodies and march right through the pearly gates but love someone of the same gender and its straight to hell.

JamieB lets think for a minute we can kill people with our words also so i believe if a person truely repents yes God will forgive them after all how many sins are we forgiven for anyway? Look at the 10 comandments he said if we broke one we have broke them all so think about it one is just as bad as the other but he also said the only other unforgiveable sin is blasphem of the Holy Ghost.

My friend, the Lord looks at the heart.
When a person gives their heart to Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes into them. It is the Holy Spirit who convicts us of sin, and its the Holy Spirit who would make the person feel very bad for taking another's life. The person becomes genuinely sorry for killing someone, and very grieved.
When we give our hearts to Jesus, we become a new creation. God only forgives those who are genuinely sorry.
The only unforgiveable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
In response to your add-ons: there will be consequences for all we have done, even if we are saved. And remember, the Lord judges the HEART.
A homosexual does not have LOVE in his heart, he has LUST.

I asked a question awhile back as to what we deserve from God, and I got a bunch of answers that said "wrath", "destruction", and "hell". I didn't ask about murderers or any other type of sin.
If we all stand guilty and condemned before God, and only the blood of Jesus can save us, do we need to draw lines and limit the sins that his blood can cover?

Because its not in our eyes, its in God's eyes. In God's belief nothing is a greater sin than to not love Him. All other sins are below that. We have plenty of people who hate God and then change their mind, and God forgives them. So why would murder be a greater sin. From our human perspective I understand your point of view, but from an omniscient God's perspective, it would be very different. Murder would be releasing a person to join God (if the individual was a believer), as twisted as that sounds. I'm sure God wouldn't like murder as the optimal way for a person to go, for all the family pain it leaves behind, but which is worse, a sudden reunion with God or eternal seperation?

good question............when Jesus died , he died for all mankind and that includes murderers and rapist, King David committed adultery with Abagail and had her husband killed so he could marry her. God forgave him when he realized he sinned and committed this crime.
Today it's worse. We live in a world that promotes lawless deeds and glorify it in movies and TV.
I think about your question daily and try not to worry about it because only God could see the persons heart. I may not be killing someone but if I have hatred in my heart, it's like I'm killing that person. So, who will be saved?
That's why I leave the judging to God and Jesus.

This is one of the main reasons why I think religion is stupid. How can murders,rapists and child molesters be forgiven, but if you don't believe in god then you go to hell, makes no sense at all.

Yes the raping murdering child molesting Christians repent and the Catholics confess and the others get saved or re born or whatever..and they get to go to heaven ...

wait wait wait. no/ but if u regreat it/repend with all ur heart and mean it then yes GOD will 4give u. its not about"oh lets kill some1 and then ask GOD for 4giveness kinda thing" u kno?
u dont have to think about commitin a murder then asking GOD 4 4giveness..he knows everything that its inside ur heart and ur thoughts. so..dont try to full GOD.

... What? You thought I meant something else? What else is there to be saved from under the circumstance but jail? If it weren't for jail, I'd be out killing folks all the time.
