I was diagnosed at age twenty three. It has taken me ten years of counseling and medication to get my life on track.

I was diagnosed at age 29... but I had mental problems since age 20... I just refused to see any professionals even during years when I couldn't function at all.

Since the age of 29.... it's taken almost 6 years to get the medication right. I've been at a low-level/ moderate level of functioning during this time-- some times better than others.

Now I'm almost 35... although people think I'm 25 because I still look and act so young. I think those years of depression and isolation-- made me emotionally a bit younger than my actual years.

My recovery has been over 5 years. I'm still recovering though.... but things look promising. I'm feeling better than I have in 15 years with this new mix of meds.

I'm looking forward to seeing if the actual results in productivity will match my current feeling of health. I'm moderately functional-- but my recovery is progressing very well right now.

I was diagnosed at 19, I'm 22 now. Getting stablize on my medication has made the biggest difference in my life. I'm finally able to deal with things like moving out, considering going back to school (freshman year is when I broke down), and working full time and therefore being on my own insurance, not my parents'. I still need to find a psychologist, but I've had the same psychiatrist through all this and he's great. I'm by no means "well", but I'm so much better it amazes me; I spent so long with no hope for the future.

At twenty three I think. Took meds for a while, I was forced to, since my father told the doctors I had lost my mind(he must have, cause when they first talked to me they said there was no problem and that I was perfectly normal..)...anyway, got off them as soon as I could (6months), cut off my dad from my life and just focus on my every day life. Which I love.
It was a good way to waste some time though...

I am in my 60's and take 9 depecote tablets a day. I quit going to the shrink, I get my prescriptions through my neurologist now.
