I have 2 roommates, one of them is always shirtless. I could car less. But the other one is always telling the first one to put a shirt on. He's always raising his voice because for being shirtless on the couch, eating shirtless on the table, even just hanging out in the apartment he has a problem. The other day, my shirtless roommate was in a bad mood, and the other moron started yelling at him for being shirtless, and they actually punched each other.
I don't understand what's my roommate's problem, I don't understrand why is it such a big deal another man is shirtless in an apartment where only men live. Now I kist feel akward living here. If I have to take sides, I'd pick the shirtless fuy 'coz I just don't think it's big deal, but I've known the other one a lot longer.

What to do?

I would sit down with Mr.Shirt who has a problem with "shirtless." There clearly is another issue here and it could be that Mr. Shirt is angry over other things and the "shirtlessness" is easier to deal with than the other issues. You need to explain to him how the fighting makes you feel and how unreasonable you think he is being. Try to find a compromise but be clear that you don't like being in the middle of a senseless fight.
On the other hand it is possible Mr. Shirt feels intimidated by "Shirtless" especially if "Shirtless" has a better body than he does.
And my very last idea is probably not one you want to hear because it would be very hard to deal with without offending Mr. Shirt and that is that it is possible Mr.Shirt is aroused by "Shirtless" and doesn't want to admit or deal with these feelings and it is easier just to get angry and defensive, especially if he is homophobic.
I hope this helps you. Good Luck!

It sounds like the shirted one needs to learn to let other people live their lives and stop being so uptight. Tell him that he's in the wrong and it's really none of his business how the shirtless guy goes around. Maybe ask the shirted one what's the big deal. Is he afraid it's unsanitary? Does he have some other issue? He's certainly entitled to his opinion or preference, but it's nothing to get into a fight over.

ask the shirted guy, what exactly his problem is? what about not having a shirt on bothers him?

maybe he might have a reasonable reason. maybe he might not. either way, its better than just shouting at the other to put a shirt on.

then they cld come to a compromise. like the shirtless one wears a singlet at least when hes using the common couch or dining room, and goes shirtless when hes in his own space.

What an uncomfortable situation.
Maybe in time they will cool off and deal with the situation like adults.
Why can't shirtless guy, wear a shirt when the other guy is home or is he shirtless just to be irritating

Suggest a compromise; the shirtless guy wears a shirt at the table, the other guy stops bugging him when he's just hanging out on the couch.

Next time say something like "Hey you two are making my life miserable. Either come to a compromise or I have to start looking for a new place."

Then let them work it out.

Here's a dumb answer: maybe you can not wear a shirt too that way the other roommate feels left out. Hopefully, he'll think he's the odd one out.

the one complaining should go pantless...see if you'd both be comfortable with that... what would it take to put a damn shirt on...you all should grow up
