A chiropractor is what I have used in the past and I felt relief after the first 2 visits. I had to go just about everyday the first week and then once or twice a week for about a month. Well worth the money. I had it really bad though where I couldn't even tie my own shoe and couldn't step down fully on my foot.

I have dealt with this since 1979 and have been to specialist after specialist. You need to go to a chiropractor. The right kind, not the ancient act of chiropractic . They will fix you up quick. You may have to start with 3x a week but you will be glad you did. Your general doctor will not like it but don't let it bother you at all. They don't like it when someone can fix what they can't without surgery. I have only ever found one or two doctors that approve of seeing one myself. But it is surely where you need to go. They will manipulate your spine to get the pressure off of that nerve and you will feel so much better. That is a horrible type of pain I know. Please believe me and go now, you will not regret it. My chiropractor tells me to call her when traveling if I need help and she has a list of appropriate ones throughout the country. I believe they call what they practice life science. There is a big difference from the old fashioned ones I know. I don't know where you live but find a good one and go now.You must have a problem in the L-5 area for it to be bothering the sciatic.Hope this helps you.I still go sometimes but have been diagnosed with a severe spine disease which will put me in a chair eventually and the pain has changed and is mostly treated with meds at this time but when I feel the sciatic become involved again I head right to them and get it fixed.

I would start with a chiropractor. Not every case of sciatica is treatable by them. You will know in a few treatments if it is making a difference. In a month, you will know if it is going to work. If not, then I would go back to the GP and get a referral to the back pain clinic at the closest hospital.

You could find a naturopath/chiropractor, herbalist, acupuncturist. You don't need a referral if you go to an alternative therapist. Look at their advertisements & see what they specialise in. Or even ring them & ask for advise, they will tell you over the phone what they would do if they are able to treat you. From my own experience keeping active & watching your weight helps.

the best treatement for sciatica is a chiropractor. This is because they can help you without surgery. My dad works in orthopedics, but I still believe chiropractors can do better. I have seen many people healed within five visits or less. Its worth whatever it costs.

A back or spine specialist. You may have to pay out of pocket if you start with a chiropracter.
