Two observations:
1) Christianity is not about what is so good about Christians. It is about what is so good about a loving savior who would save such undeserving people.
2)What is the point of becoming a Christian? You may as well ask what is the point of falling in love or what the point is in seeing the stars. Certainly you will not have an answer to this that satisfies your own heart until you experience God for yourself.
I was an unbeliever at one time too. It was God himself that changed my mind and I have found that he exceeds his publicity in his grace and goodness. You have the intellectual right to be an atheist but I do wonder why you are so emotionally vested in your position that you have such a distaste for attending a church service that will not harm you. It's just possible you may get something out of it at some point, and if you are confident in your own judgment it cannot hurt you!

If you would like to continue living after this fleshy body dies, Christianity is the way to go.
Atheists don't address Spirit. Do you believe you have a spirit? If so, then you believe what they don't. Christianity focuses on the spirit. All these things on Earth (including you and the clothes you wear) will pass away. Christianity shows us that we should be preparing for life that goes beyond this crap on Earth.
I would simply advise you to pray to God directly and ask him to reveal himself to you. He's knows the choice you are facing. So if he doesn't, then go on with your choice. But if (when) he does, devote yourself to following him.
God bless.

If this is how you feel, then definately you should disregard their teachings. After all, if you are atheist, then you don't have to "honor your parents" (they are "DUMB" after all), and you have no need to listen to what they say, despite the fact that they are more mature and wise than you.
Just forget what they say, go out and have a few drinks then drive home. Yeah, that's a good idea huh? *insert eye-roll here*

I guess I would hate what my parents told me, but I ended up where I did, and met a cute Navy sailor, who happened to be a son of a preacher man.....isn't there a song about that? :-)
Anyways, I have always had a lot of issues with Christianity because of the examples set by my parents. It wasn't until I met my husband that I actually started to be aware of what I was doing.
Christianity is all about you and God, forget whatever your parents tried to teach you, you are yourself now, so in this life, no one is going to give you a break. It's all about your attitude toward God, and more importantly, toward Jesus who died for you on the cross.
I had my issues, I feel you, really. I still struggle with Christians at church who just kinda, somehow go there for no reason at all, but they struggle with life, and expect God to answer their prayers.
My challenge to you is to be a strong woman of God, since you have heard it all before, be all you can for God, since no man can ever fill that void of life where you need Him most, in your soul.

1.You can proclaim to the world you are a Christian and have ascended above everyone else.
2.You can go around runnin your mouth about how all non-christians are going to burn in hell and of course you are not.
3.You can spout out chapters and verses of the bible when you really don't have a clue.
4.You can put all those stickers on your car.

Jessica,
They are concerned for your well-being and your eternal soul. You are unable to become a Christian unloess you truly BELIEVE. You must be able the one to make that decision. They can not do io for you. I am sorry that you feel it is "stupid" but that is your choice, NOT theirs. At the very least take the time to listen to them for their benefit and be objective. They really do care about you as parents. Have a great week.
Eds, Non-Denominational Christian
EDIT... If you want to discuss it further, drop me a note and I will gladly respond.

In general, the best part of Christianity (speaking as an outsider) is the social constructs it allows for you.
