This may sound rather strange, but recently I have been trying to find ways of making those cheap sandwiches more enjoyable. Generally they are pertty obvious and taste almost the same whichever shop you go to. I am pretty lazy and want good food quickly so it is either buy sandwich fillings and slap them on some baguette with bagged salad or those bits of chicken tikka or whatever. However recently I have had a vision of the perfect sandwich (for my tastes at least) and it is actually quite unexpectedly good.
Get a tuna mayonnaise sandwich (either pre-made or make yourself) and add some proper yellow mustard to your taste (wholegrain works and is sweeter but is not so good). I have a lot of mustard as the mayonnaise soaks it up. Then you can either add cheese or salad (salad is better particularly with spring onions). At work they have added it to the sandwich menu as a fishwich special as loads of people eat it!!! Just one way of making a boring sandwich really good.
Tell me if you like it...

Tomato soup (homemade) and a tuna and cress sandwich sounds like an odd mix but its really tasty. Chop onion garlic and fry off with some herbs add a chicken stock cube a big spoon of tomato puree and a tin of tomatoes simmer gently for 15 mins and blend! Delicious and healthy! And it only takes 20 mins!!!

Try this.
Toast two slices of bread under the grill on one side only.
Take them from the grill and cover the untoasted sides with Mango Chutney and on top of the chutney place thinly cut Mature Stilton Cheese. Shove em under the grill until the cheese has melted. Serve with a side salad and you have the perfect lunch. Enjoy!

Something hot or at least something you can buy in there and warm up at home or work. How about soup and a sandwich or a jacket potato? Or how about a microwave meal - not that healthy but it's a horrible cold day...
