We are having a potluck party for 75-100 people. I'm making the soup, but I don't know how much soup I should make for everyone. It's a sit down meal, and there will be many other things served (like apps, a main course, and dessert), so I don't know what the right amount is. 1 cup, 2 cups per person? I don't know what size the bowls will be so I cannot use that as a judge. No one else knows, either. Help!!!

No, no, no... it's potluck in that everyone is serving something... but everyone will be eating it! There are different courses that everyone are bringing. So everyone needs a decent amount.

Sorry if I wasn;t clear.

I'd go with 1 cup per person. (Assuming they can't have seconds.) And it depends on how many veggies/meat are in the broth. So you may not need 100 cups of broth if there's a lot of other food in it. If it's a brothy soup, then you'll need closer to the full amount. But figure 1 cup per person, that's literally what a cup of soup was at my restaurant.

figure you want about 8-10 ounces per person and also that not everyone is gonna want soup so you're gonna need roughly 675 ounces of soup, that's about 80 one cup bowls

since it's pot luck ,, not every one will eat soup.... so estimate no more than 1 cup per person, and you will still have plenty of left overs

I would say a 1 cup portion would be plenty, there may be some that want more or less so it'll even out. Cream of ____
soups are the best(mushroom, asparagus, broccoli etc...)What time do we eat?!!
