Find good Bible studies if you are wanting to learn about specific doctrines.

If you are wanting to memorize chunks of it, type out the scripture (cut & paste works good, here) so you can refer to it easily throughout the day. Then type out the same scripture but only use the first letter of each word.
ie: I'm memorizing James. So I have a few pages of the complete book of James typed out. Then the other abbreviated pages look like this:
1 J, a s o G a o t L J C, t t t t w a s a, g.
2 M b, c i a j w y f i d t
Read several verses of the complete scripture, then try to read it using the abbreviated page. When you get good at reading the abbreviated page try to do it w/o looking at the page, when you've got that down you can have someone quiz you or you can write it down and compare it to the Bible.
This method makes it easy and fun.

It sounds like you want to get a good overview of Scripture and then go back to fill in the details with a systematic reading and study. A good place to start is with books on Old and New Testament Survey as well as with Bible Handbooks. Old and New Testament Introductions (as opposed to surveys) tend to me more technical and it doesn't sound like that is what you are looking for. You may want to try reading through "Eerdman's Bible Handbook" as a starting point. At some point you may also want to read a good introduction to Bible interpretation. It's a bit advanced, but Fee and Stuarts "How to Read the Bible for All it's Worth" is a good one. I also recommend a summary of Bible doctrine. You do not say what your background or beliefs are, but a good, classic Evangelical summary of Bible doctrine can be found in William Evans' "The Great Doctrines of the Bible." As you read through Scripture don't obsess at this time over difficult genres or passages. Just keep reading to get the big picture. You can always go back to fill in the spaces.

You can find online bible studies or go to your local Christian book store- or if you attend a church, which you should- attend a small group. However let me make a suggestion to you- learning the Bible takes a lifetime. The reason for studying the bible is not for the sake of learning fast- but for growing in your relationship with Christ- I have been a Christian for 30 years and I am still learning.

I read a book called "30 Days to Understanding the Bible" by Max Anders. It was short, easy to read, and could be read in about 2 hours (despite its title). It gives a pretty good summary (though oversimplified) of both the Old and New Testaments and is a great bedrock from which to launch further exploration. Also it will help you not look like a complete novice if you go to church.

both elements to the question are contradictory. do you want to study it as quick as plausible or study the most? the speedy way is basically to study by it, possibly locate a sturdy cutting-aspect yet actual translation with minimum explanatory notes yet adequate to help get an straightforward information of the textual content. attempt the Jerusalem Bible. The "maximum" way is to discover fantastic commentaries. Use a form -- scholarly and tutorial to understand the textual content in context and then a religious statement representing your non secular denomination that provides you interpretations in accordance for your theological attitude. For schlolarly i'd use the Anchor Bible series. each e book of the bible is defined in detail in a separate volume.
