I'm going in May to Marmaris for my 7th visit.
It is a very lively big resort with lots of things to do like trips etc (I highly recommend jeep safari and a boat trip at least).
There are plenty of bars/clubs located mainly on bar street near the harbour or on the beach front at the opposite end to the harbour. The beach isn't the best, go to icmeler on a dolmus (mini bus) if you like beaches, its only 5min away and will cost about 70p.
Check your hotel out at holidays uncovered, remember there'll usually be good and bad about most places and you'll make your own mind up but it'll give you an idea of what to expect. Many people write about the resort too. Also look at trip advisor marmaris forums. there's loads of research you can do.

I have been to Marmaris a few times, usually in October as it gets very hot in the summer. June should be OK. You get lovely food and drink, very reasonable prices. A real must is to go on any of the boat trips from Marmaris to surrounding areas. You get food, swimming and beautiful scenery. The people are really friendly and I am sure you will enjoy shopping for the many cheap fake designer goods on sale everywhere.
I really miss my Turkish holidays as my partner died nearly two years ago and none of my friends want to go.
You should also go to Altinkum, Fettiye and Alanya as they are all superb holiday destinations for the future. Have fun.

If you like English resorts you'll love it English bars,English breakfasts you might even see the odd Turk.
