I'm currently applying for jobs, so its one step in the right direction.
I have spoken to Human Resources and my line managr and boss now about it, but I don't really think people understand. HR are better than the line managers. I just get looked at like im stupid sometimes when I talk about it.
I also see a counsellor but I genuinly believe the problem to be work. I am willing to get another job, and not scared of starting new again, but I just hate the place so much, it stresses me out and makes me anxious.

You are not stupid. Stress and anxiety can be extremely debilitating. People who criticise you have never experienced it and so can have no concept of how you feel. Talk to your doctor as he may know of several avenues to aid recovery. He will not sign you fit for work until you are ready. Good luck.

Stress is a serious illness and you have got to try and relax and do different things while you are off work. Like go for a walk in the country go for a swim. just do something that you normally wouldn't do to take your mind off everything. Don't feel Stupid try to think positive and improve your mood by doing some nice things for yourself even if its only going to the cinema or going for a walk around town go for a coffee anything. Do not sit inside because this will just make you feel worse. And don't return to work to soon as you will just end up being off work again. Mind yourself and good luck. Keep smiling no matter what.

I have experienced this as an employee and as a boss. I used to have a team of 50 staff where I used to work, we had a 20% sickness rate and the majority of those were off work with the same thing, anxiety/stress. I used to have to go and visit my staff and slowly encourage them to work, this wasn't intrusive but supportive. You need to have support from someone in work as you may feel like people think you are just faking it if you have no contact with anyone. Do you have a human resources department that you can talk to?
i was also off work for a few months with depression and anxiety, it was tough and I know exactly how you feel. It's a slow process, but the longer you leave it the harder it is to get back to work.
One of my staff who was worst affected was off for a year, she was terrified of coming back to work. I started off meeting her outside in the street, just so she could see the building, then she went home. the next week, she came into the reception area, and the week after she came into the office. She came back to work the dame day as I was leaving, and she told me it was the best thing she had ever done.
Please try and talk to someone in work, your manager or supervisor, and if they are doing their job properly, they will support you and help you all the way.
Good luck

I sounds like you may also have some depression. Forget about what others are thinking and concentrate on how you're feeling. If you were asked to take some time off for your health, you need to do it. Don't worry about returning in a specific time frame. See a therapist, take up some new hobbies, relax. Time off should be time off. Anxiety and stress can effect your overall health negatively, not to mention your social life. Don't feel stupid or worthless. Take this opportunity to discover ways in which you can learn to relax.

hon - this sounds so much like what i went through a few years ago. i used to work in a Prison, and the stress of it all got too much for me. i was signed off sick for about 6 months. it really did nothing for my self esteeme, and at the end of it all i had managed to develope a phobia of going back to the job. i had to quit and find somewhere else to work. it literally took me years to get my self respect and confidence back, as i felt like i'd failed... speak to your doctor about how u are feeling, ask to be put on the waiting list for councelling. it helps to talk about this. feel free to IM me, i will help in any way i can. take care. things do get better. x

Good for you for looking at both sides of this! Most people use things like this as an excuse for not being at work when really they don't have a problem and it gives people who really do have a problem a bad reputation as everyone gets classed together... If you feel like you want to go back to work how about a visit to your Dr to discuss with them to see what your options are. Good luck - hope you feel better soon.

it incredibly is a manner forward for start discrimination, that easy. Astrology and racism proportion a lot of a similar concepts. For one concern, in the two situations someone is being judged by ability of aspects previous their administration. only as people have not have been given any administration over their pores and skin coloration, they even have not have been given any ability to be certain while and the place they have been born. the two astrology and racial stereotypes are consistent with a framework of thought that incredibly says: "devoid of even assembly you, i think some thing approximately you. i will assume this actual form of habit or trait (stubbornness, laziness, conceitedness, etc.) from participants of this actual team of persons (Jews, blacks, Aries, Pisces, etc.)." while an astrologer shows out someone’s astrological sign, she or he will deliver to that have a pre-cutting-edge checklist of assumptions (prejudices) approximately that person’s habit, character and character. In the two situations, the prejudices will reason people to look for out and ensure their expectancies. Racists will look for examples of characteristics and behaviors interior the communities they dislike, and astrologers will look for the character characteristics that they have confidence the guy will show. on account that people have complicated personalities (all people are lazy a number of the time, being concerned at different circumstances, etc.), the two racists and astrologers will locate data confirming their ideals. of course, astrologers are no longer racists. however the thought structures underlying the two viewpoints are same: prejudging persons consistent with well-known ideals some team. If we don't assume that African-people are lazy, Arabs are terrorists, or Asians are scholastic geniuses, why might we assume that Cancers are emotional, Aries are born leaders, or Geminis are beneficial non-conformists? people would desire to be judged as unique, person persons, no longer consistent with what arbitrary team they belong to. To paraphrase Martin Luther King, Jr., someone would desire to be judged no longer by ability of the colour of their pores and skin -- nor the date and time of their start -- yet by ability of the content textile of their character.

I've been fired, I've quit jobs and then was scared to go back to work, afraid of not being able to handle it. Take care of the anxiety problem, find a job without much stress and go on with your life. It'll get better.
