We already have one and she is a female shorthair, and I only want one more. I want a male longhair kitty soooooo bad, but he says that two cats is too much for an apartment.

You could crate train the new one, that way when your boyfriend is around you can put your new boy up and your boyfriend won't have to deal with two cats at once. Plus if you put a litter tray into the crate with the new baby kitten he will most likely train himself. Just be sure to wean him away from the litter-box inside of his kennel eventually or as an adult he'll make a mess. The only problem with crate training any animal is that they WILL cry and you must resist or they will never learn! If you are sure you want a boy be sure to get him fixed BEFORE he is 6 months old or else he will get you girl pregnant and he will be wild, vicious and destructive. Plus he will spray everything in you house! I have two boys in my house as of now, and they are sweeter than my girl! But I did get the adult neutered while he was 5months old, and now he still acts like a kitten! My newest "son" is about to be fixed this month.I talked my husband into getting us 7 cats over time at one point, and he is a dog person! If I can figure out a way, you sure can!

GOOD LUCK!

The same way i did........ Just go and get one when he is not at home, works great, put butter on its paws, feed it some yummy cat food, but make sure it is put just outside the front door, when its eaten, hide the dish, and then you are 99.9% guaranteed that it will stay outside the apartment. So, when bf comes home you can show him this poor stray kitten that is in need of a home, or even offer to keep it til you find the owners, lol, but of course you wont find them cos u r the new owner. Ta da!

My bf though exactly the same thing.... luckily he realized that it was best for our first cat to get a playmate. It has worked out WONDERFULLY! My cats, Duke and Thor play all the time and stay in great shape. They are very happy and very muscular from all their play time and wrestling. I always buy two of everything so there isn't any jealousy.
I think the companionship would be great for your female cat. I hope you can convince your bf to get another kitty. They are so wonderful!
Good luck!

Don't ask. Just bring the little kitten home and wait for the right moment to show him. A good time will be when he is relaxed and "kicking back" and the just place the cute little kitty on his chest. No one can resist a cute little kitty. They are the most powerful beings on the planet! :-)

Give him time. Keep gently persuading him. Let him know you haven't given up on the dream but don't drive him nuts with it. Pretty soon, there will be something he REALLY wants. The way men are it can be VERY soon (could be a video game...could be something else). Careful not to bring up the kitten yet....ask him again right after he gets that thing he wants and has that goofy glow about him :-)

Actually, after a settling in period, two cats are easier than one, they keep each other company and exercised and are less demanding of their humans as a result. Just bear in mind that your current kitty might not want you as much as it currently does.

the best way to get what u want is to not only take a little but to give a little so if there is somthing ya boyfriend wants at first act like he cant get it but then say well if you get it i can get my kitten, or tell him that if the new kitten doesnt work out you will get rid of it

you have too many pets already. A dogs and a ferret desire distinctive interest. Spend greater time worrying and training and enjoying at the same time with your dogs and ferret and supply up accumulating animals.

no its not, me and my husband have 2 and its actually better to have to because they keep each other company when you are gone, cats get depressed too, cats are like potato chips, you can't have just one!
