It is possible to become overly-involved with someone else's life, to the point where you give too much or all of your energy and thought to making someone else "happy",,, if you spend more time thinking about him, planning your activities around what he wants, pushing aside your own needs, then there's an unhealthy balance in the relationship, and, it will be damaging to you in the long run. You should never give up anything about yourself that makes you who you are, for someone else's "happiness"... when you have a healthy balance of give and take, no one is left feeling empty or deprived. No relationship should be one-sided. Not if you want an equal chance at being happy. Too much self -sacrificing does not lead to happiness for both.

Yes. It is supposed to be a two-way street. If you are meeting needs of another while ignoring your own and they are not being met, you are loving too much.

No.
However, there are emotions that can be mistakn for love that can be taken to extremes.
Lust can be taken to extremes quite easily. Obsessive behavior resulting from paranoia can get one ina world of trouble. S&M and B&D relationships can get "out of hand".
But not love, per se.

Only if you make them feel smothered. Otherwise there is nothing like loving someone too much.

Yes. I knew this girl who let her world revolve around the dude she was dating. She'd totally sell her soul to the devil if her boyfriend told her to. She literally saw no one else. It scared the hell out of her boyfriend.

If they don't love you back, then give your love to someone that wants it.
