Christians: If Satan created all other religions?

Question

First of all, I would like to say that the reason why I direct this question to the Christians is because they are easily the most prominent memeber on this site, and because I myself was raised a Catholic, I'm a humanist atheist now, but moving on.

My quesiton is based on religions, mainly the ones the attempt to create a peaceful and loving world...which I would argue are the larger percentage...

Now, these religions, from my experience on these discussions, were supposedly created by Satan, to trick or decieve the masses away from the true religion, aka, Christianity.

However, many these religions which give meaning to the lives of many people, it fills them with love, hope and compassion. If this is the case, then why does that make them created by Satan? Is really the only reason that they lead them away from believing that Christ was the son of god? Why would Satan trick people by making them happy and compassionate?

And further, if Satan does go around doing this..

Why can the same thing not be applied to Christianty? I mean, think about it, what if Satan created the Christ character, who is as loving and compassionate as anyone can possibly be, as a way to trick the Jews, and the rest of the world, away from their own religion, to abandon Gods words.

Would that not be Satans ultimate victory?

Could that not account for the massive difference in the mean, jealous, murdering God from the old testament and the loving Jesus from the new one?

For those of you saying that Man created religions, I very much believe the same...I'm just throwing something out there for the Christians, and also for other religions as it can most probably be applied to theirs also.

Actually there are other religions which are much more effective than christianity. Chrsitians can't justify their effects, so they just blame that these are creation of satan

I think the point is that Satan has deceived people for millenniums. He is crafty and good and telling people what they want to hear so he leads them in directions away from God. It's not a matter of him creating the religion as much as getting them to believe something that's not true.

The only reason I can say that Christ is not a lie from Satan is that Christ's actions and words fit with the attributes of God. Nothing He did or said was out of step with God. Many of the things people point out in the Old Testament that show changes in God from a tyrant to the God of the love in the New Testament do not take into consideration the circumstances of the time. Much of the law was understood by the Hebrews in connection with their culture, which we forget because we try to make it fit with ours. We tend to take the extreme view of the law where the Hebrews understood more of the intent because they lived in those circumstances.

Why would Satan care if people are "happy" in this life, if his ultimate goal is to lead them away from God for all eternity? As far as Satan "creating" the Christ Charactor to fool the jews, etc etc. A BAD tree cannot bear Good fruit. If you can look at the life of Christ and attribute it to the workings of Satan; That is dangerously close to what the Pharasees were doing in Jesus' day, when they accused Him of doing miracles BY the power of Satan. Jesus said that they had reached the point of being forever lost. When a person is THAT far gone, God apparently just gives up on them and lets them die in that delusion. ALL religions except Christianity teach that man can somehow please God. (Salvation by works). Christianity is the only Faith that insists that man has NOTHING to offer God. It is only by accepting His Grace through Faith in His Son, that man CAN ever reach God. A "hodgepodge" of religious choices is Satans' greatest deception. The biggest lie he has ever sold the human race is that ALL sincere roads lead to Heaven. Man is too stubborn and too proud to be told that there is NOTHING he can do that pleases God. It was an EASY lie to sell mankind, because it is something that has a natural appeal at its core. Hope that helps....theBerean

First of all I am not a Christian and I do not want to be. The reason is, a true Christian is a one who does not believe in Trinity. He believe is one God.

Regarding the question, yes, Satan created all other religions and corrupted the true religion which was brought to mankind by all the prophets of God.
It is a illusion to think that the religions created by Satan give love, hope and compassion. They are taking the man away from the truth and resulting in corruption, lewdness, bloodshed, etc.

I recently did some extensive research on the Jehovah's Witnesses and found out that there Bible tract society The Watch Tower uses a hypnotic form of mind control. What the J.W'.s don't get or will accept is that there organization is deceiving them and that there church is of a cult nature.

They are slaves to their own religion, do you know how many times they go to church meetings? Every night!

This in my mind is so wrong.

Then they have what they call Dis- fellowship this occurs when a J.W does some thing wrong for instance if the person has had a drinking problem and they happen to go back to drinking, they are kicked out of church until they have given it up. This is just some thing I just can not fathom.

So you see it is a design to distract people from the Faith.

I believe that every church has the potential to be destructive to them selves under the influence of Satan.

Satan can put thoughts in your head, but he can't create Religion only man does that.

My friend, most of these religions give false peace and false joy - Satan can appear as an angel of light too. And so he does - and yes, in order to deceive.

See, if these people are "at peace and feel joy" etc., they will stay where they are, not seeking truth. Jesus IS the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to God the Father except through Him.

Most people would not join Satanism and Satan knows this. This is why he created all these other things - all in order to lead people away from the truth which would set them free.

In response to your add-on, you pose a good question. However, I KNOW God and its only when you give your heart to Him and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, that you get to KNOW Him.

Its a deep assurance that is unshakeable. And its logical too, contrary to what many think.

~ Why does that make them created by Satan? It's a false sense of love and compassion based on lust of the eyes and flesh.
~ Created by Satan? Yes... Satan wants to rob, kill and destroy ALL of us... creating the other religions... providing us with lust... all to kill us.

~ To lead them away from Christ? Yes.

~ Satan's tricks? Happy... compassionate... that's part of the human desire... to be happy... to be compassionate (to ourselves... for ourselves) Satan wants us to be happy in our sex life... in money (gamble, rob, steal, what ever it takes to get what we want)... Satan wants us compassionate... yeah... passionate for what ever turns us on... watch the marriages crumble faster and faster... watch singles become mothers and fathers without marriage... watch the world destroy itself... ALL THE WHILE, SATAN IS LAUGHING...

~ Why not applied to Christianty? Because the Creator of ALL would not do that.

~ What if Satan created the Christ character? Satan can NOT create... he can only destroy... and he know his time is short... he has many to kill before the rapture... before the Millenial Reign... before the White Throne Judgement!
JESUS CHRIST is NOT a character... as you put it... YOU are the character that will answer to Him one fine day... take heed, ye sinner... repent!

If you were to paint a picture, and it turned-out ugly, you would NOT want it shown in public... you would probably destroy it.
God created... man destroyed... God destroyed most but not all... God allowed a remnant to start again... Noah... the great Flood... a new civilization created again...
Yes... he destroyed the evil ones that were corrupting the painting He visualized to be so great.
He gave the Jews commands... laws to follow... gave them examples of how to live... how to harvest... how to rest... how to do all He wanted them to do... After time... the picture painting capability dwindled... the paintings became clouded... just like his protection when they walked NOT in His paths... Then, the New Testament... yes, God sent his only Son, Jesus Christ to be the living sacrafice for us... as an atonement for our sins...

If you do NOT think that Jesus didn't know what the Father did in the O.T. to teach His children, you are mistaken... God knew what 'spankings' His chosen people needed... and He punished accordingly... just as you were punished as a child... and you had better praise God you were NOT raised in the O.T. days, lest you may have been stoned to death.

men not satan, created all the religions of the world. satan like god, is the chosen deity of some people and the bane of others. religions can be created around anything. would i be considered less religious because i worshiped apples, nikes or door knobs? i think not.
if it makes me happy and i am a true believer in whatever...it's a religion, just like your human atheism.
