GOOD QUESTION! I don't really care for the plain old square room either. I'm remodeling my front room it's going to be L shaped. If had the money I'd done something unusual. Can you imagine triangle or octagon rooms. Hmm...... ?

Curved walls are more labor intensive and costly.

odd shapes cost money.. and have you ever put up sheet rock.. circles are very time costly... it can be done.. just takes alot of time... all builders when doing cookie cutter homes are putting up as many homes as they can as fast as they can,.. square rooms offer more space,easy to set-up... and are cheap
