Yes, absolutely. Other parts of our soul such as intellect, memory, and senses are not necessarily connected or as much connected to our spirit as our emotions. Any spiritual journey or exploration will be an emotional one indeed.

Emotions are indicators. The Spirit often triggers reactions in our emotions but the Spirit is not about emotions.

Absolutely! I find my self on the alter at church all the time just crying mostly not having a clue why. When that happens, it means your being 'touched by the Holy Spirit'. It's happened to me a lot lately, because I've been seeking Him to get me through a very hurtful time in my life. But every time I get up from the alter and wipe my tears, surrounded by my friends, I feel renewed in a way like I can now agree to face yet another day.

We are a tri-part being.
Spirit-Soul-Body.
The mind, intellect, emotions, will, are connected to the soul.
When you die your spirit leaves your body along with your soul.
