In Bangkok at most of your bigger hotels, you will get CNN, SkyNews, BBC, MSNBC, Discovery, National Geographic, Star Movies, Star Sports, an HBO/Showtime/Cinemax station (I don't remember which). Typically it's one channel of each and you will get a couple local channels as well as hotel movies. Usually, the American shows that you listed aren't shown, unless they were in the middle of the night while I was asleep.

UBC True offers a number of different plans. The most expensive will get you the most channels. However, I have yet to see David Letterman in BKK. Oprah comes on True series and Jay Leno comes on CNBC but only once on the weekend.

If you are coming to Thailand to watch TV, save your money and stay home. CNBC Asia shows Leno once a week and CNN has that guy from Comedy Central (sorry having a brain fart) once a week too. No Letterman and on a rare occasion Mnet has Oprah. UBC has a variety of options available but don't plan on your usual US programming line up.

All the channels you are looking for are usually available from cable TV providers in Bangkok. Some operators allow their customer to select the channels of their choice while others offer "bundles" of channels such as from a particular country or of a certain language. You can check with the operator nearest to you which channels they can offer. Due to the high number of foreign tourists that visit Bangkok and Thailand, cable operators there provide channels of almost every major language in the world and channels with shows that appeal to a broad section of the local and foreign societies.

i dint think that these channels are available. All hotels have different packages. If you are going to live there you will probably be able to buy a gadget that will enable you to pick up all channels.
