I walked past a mosque last night (in Indonesia) and I was surprised to see only about 15 men inside a fairly large mosque listening to the Mullah. The Mullah actually didn't need to use a microphone for the listeners to hear him but his microphone and the one on top of the building was turned up so that the whole neighbourhood had to listen to him. I am not a Muslim but I know many Muslims as well that can't understand why this is so and it annoys them.

i know the microphone is used to let everyone know when the time is to pray, maybe the mullah uses it so lazy muslims watching TV can hear what he;'s talking about during ad breaks.

No, i don't have faith Mosques require minarets, although many/maximum do have them. they're traditionally used as a severe place from which to call out for prayers, although on the instant this top is of much less useful magnitude. They do have stable symbolic value (no remember if helpful or damaging) and are heavily linked with Mosques and Islam greater often than not, although they do no longer look to be technically required for the form of a Mosque.

Missuse of these microphones are not allowed by the laws !

This could be an example of misuse of mic, but you should not generalise it. In many cases there would be thousand of people when mic is used.
