My friend took those anti-depression medication. He told me it makes him dizzy and unable to think, just like the doctor told him. "No thinking, no depression" is the motto of the medication.
I suggest some alternatives which I used long ago:
- Take tyrosine (a component of amino). It helps to boost your energy level and therefore motivate you.
- Take vitamin B & C to fuel your brain and combat stress.
- Get plenty of sun.
- Get plenty of exercise to weat it out and pump oxygen into your brain. If you jog, run as fast as you can until you are out of breath before you stop.
- Analyze your diet. Not enough water or too much acid.
- Meditate by focusing your thoughts on your breathing. Meditate will strengthen your mind.
- Pray alot. Have faith in the religion of your choice. Believing that someone powerful is willing to help you, strengthen your belief you will recover.
- Use auto suggestion first and last thing in the day : "Everyday in every way, I am getting better and better." Repeat the sentence any time your are free like traveling or waiting. Record and play it to yourself. Say it with positive feeling.
- Don't take anti-depression pills because the pills makes you sleepy but it does not help.
Try yoga with realxing music in the morning and night. Your body is linked to your mind. Once your body feel great, our mind will improve.

Hi,
Well all antidepressants have a long list of side affects listed.
What i would say is that it might be a good idea not to find out the different side affects as it makes you worry about every little thing that happens to you, also every negative health issue you may or may not have taking them you will put down to side affect.
Also sometimes when you know what the side affects are you can imagine you have them.
If you have a close friend of family member they could check out the side affects for you and they could keep an eye out for you.
Also your doctor should be keeping a close eye on you monitoring that the medication is working for you and that you are not on the verge of killing yourself.
Hope it goes well, and this was a little helpful.

Each medication has different side effects in different people. A lot of the instances of people killing themselves were wrong combinations of medicines, bad reactions. I think that the important thing is to talk to your doctor if you feel anything different, even if it's only nausea. I have terrible nausea with my meds but it's a price I'm willing to pay for feeling normal. Other common side effects are loss of interest in sex, dry mouth, nausea, headache, sleepiness, insomnia. It's so different for each drug but most doctors are pretty good about giving you good choices. After that, it's up to you to be aware of your body's reaction and talk to the doctor. I think you'll be fine. Good luck.

Your best bet is to ask you Doctor! I can not stress this enough and by all means if your depression worsens at all, tell your Dr. especially if you start having thoughts of suicide. You can also try the site below, it has excelent information on every type of medication, including side effects and the precentage rate that those side effects had on people. Best of Luck

It depends on what medicine you are perscribed....for example like with paxil there have been some cases where people have commited suicide due to the medicine but not everyone who takes it does or have....The best thing to do is to speak with your doctor about the best option for yourself. Many have different reactions to each medicine. It is good to always keep track on any mood changes one feels while taking an anti-depressant. I hear welbutrines good...but with anything it may be good for one person but for another it wont work at all.

Make sure to monitor yourself, if you begin to spiral downwards after taking the meds, seek help fast. Other then that, anti depressants can cause a lack of sex drive or weight gain, tiredness, it all depends on what you are taking. Talk to Pharmacist about the drug that is prescribed for you and ask specifically about its side effects. Good luck
