German shepards have hip and joint problems, pugs have breathing and eye problems, so just make sure they are bred from healthy parents... I prefer german shepards as they are normally more intelligent

I prefer the German Shepherd. I think they're both cute dogs but I LOVE big dogs. The GSD is very prone to hip and elbow problems, while the Pug is very prone to breathing (especially) and eye problems. The GSD obviously needs much more exercise than the Pug. They both need special grooming requirements. For example, you need to regularly clean under the folds on skin on the Pug while you need to brush the fur of the GSD nearly everyday. They should both be purchased from a REPUTABLE breeder due to the amount of hereditary diseases BOTH breeds are prone to.

Hi Veby_04!
They absolutely not similar, a pug is Companion and Toy Dog. The Pug is an indoor dog as she dislikes cold or hot weather. She can do well in an apartment. Cats can be a problem because they have prominent eyes and are prone to cat scratches. The Pug is affectionate, ready to please and sensitive. The Pug can provide hours of entertainment for its owner with many comical antics. He is sensitive to the moods of its owner. They are trustworthy, loyal and socialize easily with other pets. The Pug can exhibit a jealous streak if not given enough attention and may even pout. He is extremely trainable. Please look: http://www.askedweb.com/askedweb/Pug/

German Shepherd - it is well balanced, with harmonious development of the forequarter and hindquarter. The dog is longer than tall, deep-bodied, and presents. the favourite working breed for many forces especially the police and they are widely used for security purposes.

The German Shepherd is a highly intelligent beast who will show undying devotion to his master but he is a dog that needs company and stimulation to be at his best.

If you are thinking of buying a German Shepherd as a pet and you have not previously owned one, it is important to research the breed and talk to experienced owners so that you fully understand what you are taking on. Please look: http://www.askedweb.com/askedweb/German_Shepherd/

If your choice, it is Pug. Before you decide to go out and buy your pup, there are a few things you need to know first. Please look article: http://www.askedweb.com/askedweb/Picking_Your_Pug/

My german shephard is great. He's very gentle with our toddler and our baby and he loves our family, but no strangers would dare jump the fence - he's a fierce security guard.

A pug really doesn't compare. I'm sure they're good companions and probably good for people who don't have the space.

It will be hard having two young puppies together and the GSD will be likely to play too roughly with the smaller puppy. You would do better to wait until GSD is about 1 year old and has been neutered and then get a bltch puppy. That should be less troublesome and there would little chance of the older dog disagreeing with a female puppy. #

Hard question, they are both so different, it's like comparing a pineapple with a banana. If you want a big or small dog. If you want a guard dog or a lap dog. The smaller dog would be easier to handle, but hey - I have a huge soft spot for German Shepherds.

This is totally personal but i would muh prefer a pug, alot less training needed and i think they are cuter but it is a personal queation and i think you need to make up your own mind if you are considering getting either but you have to consider their own requirments like exersize, feeding and grooming just to name afew!
