I'm a woman, and though I'm single right now, I have no doubt that I would still watch porn if I had a boyfriend or girlfriend.
My reasons? It turns me on. I would hope we could watch it together and enjoy it, but I would also like it alone, because even if my partner is perfect and wonderful and I'm getting all the sex I could ever need, everyone needs some time alone to enjoy themselves, and I like to do that with porn. I find it interesting, exciting, and it gives me new ideas.
Ultimately, in the end, no porn video can stand up to my partner- because I don't know or care about the porn actors, but I know and love my partner, and he or she has a lot more to offer me than just sex- intimacy and interaction. I don't try to compare anyone's bodies to porn stars', male or female, because porn stars are a completely different race. They are picked because their bodies are perfect, either by intense working out, or by surgical enhancement. They aren't meant to look like the average person (although I do enjoy porn that features more average beauties).
Lastly, I don't look down on porn or the women in it. Porn serves a need in our society, I certainly enjoy it, and if done correctly, it's a beautiful thing. I tend to watch more women-oriented porn- stuff that has real-life couples having sex (my favorite type- you can feel the passion!), with more normal looking people, more focus on women's pleasure, real orgasms all around, and a general less misogynistic tone than a lot of male-produced porn. Particularly porn done like this (stuff by Carol Queen, Annie Sprinkle, Candida Royalle, Comstock Films, etc., etc..), I think, makes me have tremendous respect for the women (and men) who work in it. I think they are true heroes. For the women who happen to be in the "other" type of porn, I still don't look down on them. If they're happy, uncoerced, are practicing safe sex and feel good about themselves, I'm all for it. If it's harming them in any way, though, I of course frown on it- for their sakes.

Men sometimes have fantasies that they don't feel would be appropriate to involve their wives in. Honestly, how would you feel if your husband asked you if he could watch you have sex with another man or even with another woman?
It is not so much a comparison as it is a way to gather new techniques and live out a secret fantasy that we don't wish to share outright.
I get more aroused by my girlfriend since she is real and I can feel and smell her right there. It is very different having a woman right there and one on a screen. Licking the screen doesn't really give anyone much pleasure and usually leaves a clean spot where the dust has rubbed off on your tongue.
I personally prefer to view porn and the girls in it on a television with the sound turned WAYYYY up. Maybe that's not the answer you were looking for... ummm... I don't see anything wrong with porn at all. As far as the girls go, I don't mind but occasionally I think to myself "Thank goodness I don't have any daughters where I will have to worry about seeing her in one of these accidentally one day."

Variety is the spice of life. And when people like sex, than variety in experiencing it makes it more enjoyable.
Porn cannot substitute for a girlfriend. And a girlfriend cannot substitute for porn. Guys, who really like sex, naturally enjoy having both. And they wouldn't want to give up either one.
Porn is a fantasy. Fantasy always looks better than real life. And most guys know it.
That's why they don't expect their girlfriend to be like the ladies in porn movies. And that's why they feel satisfied with what they have.

The only reason I would hever have to watch porn is when my wife is away. But I never compare them, its just to get off really. Easier than to lie in the bed thinking "What should I think about to make this easier?"
