I'm curious to know how people view this religion. Wicca is a form of Paganism and Witchcraft, and if you believe some sources Wiccans are feard by some and hated by others.

What do you think of Wicca? If you like, you can say what religion you follow, but that's not necessary.

I believe Wicca is a legitimate spiritual choice for some people ;)
I am not Wiccan, but have friends who are. They are kind and generous people. It disturbs me that many people seem to believe that Wicca involves devil-worship. The devil as described in the Bible is a Christian concept. Most forms of Wicca have a creed or rede, which states that any evil acts/magic against others will return to the caster three times worse!
In the end, we are ultimately responsible for ourselves, regardless of our religious point of view.

From reading these answers I can see why people fear or dislike or disrespect Wiccans. They know little or nothing about Wiccans / Pagans. I assume they believe what they were told by non-pagans rather than having truly studied the actual beliefs and practices of Wiccans.
For example, Wiccans do not worship Satan. None of the pagans I know even believe in Satan. Satan is an invention of Christians.
Of course there are people with outrageous practices in ALL religions, including Wicca. I hope people will not judge all pagans by the actions of a few people who do not represent the large majority of Wiccans.
Wiccan / paganism is an ancient tradition, much older than modern religions. Many modern religious holiday's have their roots in pagan celebrations and holidays. Just dig down a little and you will see.

Wicca is my faith. It encourages people to never harm anyone and gives people the freedom to live in harmony with the rest of the world. It also teaches people that labels are for clothes, because Wiccans have the right to take bits from other religions and mix it to find what works for them. Wiccans are free in a way that other people can't understand, with is why I think a lot of people have problems with the religion. Religion shouldn't be about limiting yourself, and Wicca helps people to expand in all ways.

I admire those like snackfairy who are open minded enough to admit they do not understand it but do not condemn either. It also bothers me that fluffy bunnies who try to practice without learning first are quick to condemn.
I will be honest enough to say that I don't fully understand it either!
I am a witch, not Wiccan. I am Pecti-Witan (hedge witch) a solitary and have never had a desire to join a coven.
The reason it is feared and hated so much is because people do not take the time to try to understand it. They can believe only what other people tell them or what they read in a book that is pretty much fictional, It applies only to a specific period of time in a very small part of the world. Some people regard it as the only truth and it contains no errors or falsehoods, yet no one has told me where the unicorns are! Or give me any proof of their existance. Unicorns are mentioned in the bible 9 times! If it is a mis-interperatation what is to say that the rest of the bible has not been mis-interpereted as well?
Sorry, I am ranting. But the holier than thou Religious Reich is getting to me today.

I don't really follow a religion. They have rules and a hierarchy which I am not crazy about. I believe in God and prefer a one on one relationship with him without a bunch of people telling me how I have to do things.
I don't really understand Wicca. What you said in your opening is about what I know. Therefore, I don't pass judgment. I don't fear or hate what I don't understand. I think that if it helps you get through life and provides you a reason to get up every day and doesn't hurt you or anyone else then go for it!!!

To be honest I know almost nothing about Wicca except what I've read on this board. And what I've read here doesn't impress me. People speak of doing spells and rituals and wearing amulets but I don't see where they speak of getting any results. My impression is there's not much substance to Wicca.

As long it preaches good, I sincerely doubt there is any problem. It is not like this is some form of religion that says god will strike you down if you do not lay with your sister in law and it is evil for a a daughter in law to be sleeping with others but absolutely perfectly alright to have a daughter in law sleeping him.

I had recently been educated on Wiccan beliefes, & it seems to be the worship / honoring (of) the Earth. Is that bad? The history of the Catholic Church is laden w/ past Pope's authorization to destroy civilizations who did not kowtow to the Vatican's doctrin. And, it is the same mentallity that permits hatred for things certain folks are ignorant of.

I use to practice wicca and it is bad news. It is a very deceiving religion that truly belongs to satan himself. You always have to be on guard as to not anger the spirits which I later found out were nothing but fallen angels bound for hell. Everything starts out ok, but then your life starts to fall apart and everything that can go wrong does. Wicca is an abomination in the eyes of God and He hates it. It is in the Bible that anyone who practices this will be cast into the lake of fire. There is no stone, spell, or circle of protection that can save you from the evil powers of satan. Only Jesus can. I got witnessed to by my brother in laws friend and I am now a born again Christian. I had great pleasure in burning all my wicca books, tarot cards and all the other trash that went with wicca, as satan can have his lying and deceiving wicca. I have repented all of this to God and He has forgiven me. I am now a follower of Jesus and witness to others the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. I also tell others my testimony about the dangers of wicca and tarot cards and anything like this. AMEN!

Yes it is a pagan witchcraft and all witchcraft has demons or gods and goddesses or spirits that are not from the lord! So yes a pagan religion and God hates god and goddess worship or nature worship or mother earth worship, he says worship the creator not the created!
