I think your parents are saying that they want your cat to be neutered or de-sexed. We say "sterilize" when we talk about human beings. Your parents just did not use the right term. Neutering is a very simple procedure done at the vet's office. They will make your kitty sleep for ashort while while they remove his testes. This is so that he won't be able to make a female cat pregnant. Aneutered male cat makes a much better pet than one that is not neutered. Male cats that are still "intact" (not neutered) tend to roam far and wide in search of girlfreinds. This can put them in a lot of danger such as being run over by cars or bitten by dogs or other cats.

The responsible thing to do would be to get the cat "fixed". Six months of age is the ideal time. He'll never know what he's missing.
Cats are much better pets when they're fixed -- they have better manners and don't usually have objectional behaviors such as marking in the house and howling at night and fighting.
It's the grown-up, responsible thing to do. (If you need more convincing, go to the humane society and see all the cats that have no homes).

ABSOLUTELY! If you want your cat to stay health and at home, that would be best. But the two absolutely best reasons are:
He won't spray inside the house (which really smells bad and is an odor that is next to impossible to get rid of.)
And, most importantly, he will not make babies. There are just too many kittens and puppies that have to be put to sleep because people won't take the precaution of having their animals spayed or neutered.
So, PLEASE have your big cat neutered. It's best for him and it will be best for you.

He will be a happier and healthier cat and much more pleasant for you to live with. Have it done as soon as you can before he starts spraying his pungent urine on your things and howling to be with girls and getting out and fighting and mating and getting disgusting diseases.
If you're worried about him losing them, you can have him vasectomised, but he will still behave like an entire male and spray and want sex etc.

Yes, please do. There are millions of unwanted pets in the world, and sterilisation would help to curb and alleviate this problem. Your cat won't even notice the difference. As a matter of fact, he will have a longer and happier life because he won't go around fighting with other toms.

in case you do no longer spay your woman kitten in the previous she is going into warmth you have the longest 3 weeks of your existence waiting until eventually you could take her to the vet! Your candy little woman if she is going into warmth would be listening to the call of the wild and doing her terrific to get exterior and get to a tom. in case you have a male cat in the domicile (even a neutered one) he will attempt to mate together with her . she would be able to howl, cry, circulate slowly throughout you, this heavily isn't a delightful adventure for all of us in the domicile. I had a kitten go into warmth at 4 months and it grow to be depressing waiting for her to end the cycle until eventually she ought to be spayed. Have the surgical treatment in the previous the hormonal hayride starts! until eventually you ought to reproduce her and have residences waiting for the the muddle spay her as quickly as achievable. the international would not choose a single extra homeless kitten.

If you dont nuter him he will start to spray all over the house if he smells a female. Also if you are worred about his "manhood" the DO make plastic ones to replace them. I think President Clinton had these for his dog buddy if I remember correctly.

Yes, he should be nutered. Why have him out, reproducing, when there aren't enough homes for the millions of cats, out there now.
Cats are not like human males, he won't miss them.

Don't be so selfish. That cat doesn't think like a human does, thank heavens. Yes, definitely get him neutered. He will be much happier and so will you and your parents.

Yes please get him fixed.....I have two indoor male cats and I had both of them fixed and they are doing great.....the bad thing about not getting him fixed is they will spray all over the house to mark their territory. Good luck in your decision...
