I am sad more days than i am happy. I am sad a lot of the time.
When i get reaally sad i scratch my arms till it bleeds just to take my mind off it, and to feel something other than emotional crap.
I dont even have a reason to be that sad. my parents seperated and my best friend moved, but that was ages ago, now i think i am just paranoid, that my friends hate me, but i cant shake the thoughts. I also hate going to school, and my parents are always trying to get me to do stuff with friends on the weekends but i just want to be alone and relax.

I've down the whole counselling thing, worked for a while, got over it then sunk back into the sadness

I know i need help, but cant tell my parents it will freak them out too much

I want to tell my friends, but i know they will freak out even more than my parents and probably wont let me out of their sights, and they'll tell a teacher or something, i want to know a way to deal with this without telling people.

Oh honey, you really should tell your parents, or at least one of them. Keeping this stuff in only makes it worse and I'm sure that you're parents would be more than glad to help you. You sound young and the scratching of the arms could elevate to something worse. If you really don't feel you can talk to your parents, please talk to someone, a friend, a trusted teacher, a councilor at your school, but talk to someone. It really does help and I assume that is what you are looking for since you are asking people here. I don't believe anyone is going to be able to tell you what to do or what it is that is bothering you so please talk to someone that can truly help you.

Tell your parents. Consider going back to counseling, especially since it "worked for a while".
Try getting active. Force yourself to join the swim team or the track team at school. When you run/swim/exercise, you release natural chemicals in your body that lift your mood and things don't seem as depressing. Far better than cutting yourself, don't you think?
You don't say your age. My daughter was like you, very sensitive. When she was 9, she got around horses in a local stable, took riding lessons and mucked out stalls after school, on weekends and in the summer. But I don't know if this applies to you. You might be too old. You could give it a try and see if it helps. Being around animals and their unconditional love and their neediness might take you away from your problems.
You have had some losses and you need some help copiing.

I feel for you, I have been in the same boat - though I've never scratched or cut - I've been in a major depression that lasted nearly 2 years.

I know that the counseling thing isn't always needed, because it's not always an "issue" you are dealing with but a chemical imbalance and you probably need some medication to help pull you out of the funk you are in before you really harm yourself.

If you have a psychiatrist you need to be totally honest with them about what is going on and what you are doing to yourself.

Please call a doctor or tell your parents or another adult you trust, as soon as you possibly can.

Look up your telephone book for some SOS numbers. You can call them to speak to these help lines without disclosing you identity. You will feel better after talking to them.

The separation of your parents must have create stress for you. Buy vitamin B and vitamin C pills. Take them together, once to twice a day after food to help you manage stress better. It will also give your brain the added fuel to think better. Don't take vitamin B after 3pm or else you cannot sleep.

Don't worry. Vitamin B and C are water soluble. Any excess will be passed out in your urine. So pls don't be afraid if you notice your urine is yellowish.

Find someone you can talk to.

It could be a minister or a counselor, but find someone.

You need help, and you need a good strong person to lean on. And maybe you need to love someone and have someone love you (and I don't mean romantically, either. I mean love in a support sense.)

You can't get through this on your own. Your parents at some point need to know how their actions are affecting you. Don't worry about freaking them out--they are freaking you out.

And being alone isn't necessarily bad if you have interests that you can pursue that are healthy.
