I have had this problem. Most of the muslims here are foriengers and i'm american born. I don't have the clique on that aspect...also....All my good friends from highschool came up to school here.

I made new friends through time, but i made friends by way of the people in my classes. I come home...i do homework....i talk to them practically all day long (oh and there isn't a signle muslim in my major in undergrad right now).

Anyways, i might've digressed....my dad always complains i don't join the MSA and socialize with people from there.
I'm more on teh boat, i wanan do my things, keeping islam in mind, but i really don't care about doing much extra right now.
I pray, i do my homeowrk, then i wanna play videogames or watch a movie, not watch indian movies or listen to bangrha (sp).

I'd say just remmeber what you believe in and always let that be what makes your choice.

Gotta also interact with non muslims....you'll be doing it for the rest of your life.....especially with work.

I know people that say on their job...its standard to get a glass of wine with lunch.....they opt for soda or water......

Not saying you ahve to go to parties....but its better to have some experience with that. Walking around with a can of pepsi while everyoen is drinking beer.....weird at first, but then you get used to it.
