Currently when adjusted for inflation the four years of the Iraq war has cost about as much as the 12 years of the Vietnam war, however when compared to a percentage of GDP, (gross domestic product), the Iraq war is much less. Only about 1% of GDP compared to about 12% for Vietnam.

Nobody is even factoring in the media coverage costs! And remember this one started with 911 and that was yet another multi-billion doallar loss.

Again the assumption is the question asks about costs- this broad question is being met with $$$$ related answers. There are so many elements that add to the cost of wars than mere dollars.

This question I will venture to answer is yes- this is the most expensive world war in history. If you think we are not in the middle of WWlll then you are completely deluded.

And the entire cost of a world war can only be tallied up at the end of it- which sadly we are far from. This entire thing has spun out of control as most wars do. We are all still faces the consequences for every war ever fought. The Japanese birth defects in the areas we bombed are still showing up to this day. So are the soldiers we sprayed with agent orange during Viet Nam- and all of the retaliations they did to us.

the cost is so high from the previous ones because we have not yet matured and are still going to war and until we stop this insanity we will suffer the consequences and repeat them until we all finally learn that there are better ways to make money and far better uses for money.

As long as we allow governments to treat us like comodities instead of people, we will all be expendable, exploitable and no matter how loud we scream they will not see us or treat us any better than another buck to fill their already over- stuffed pockets.
