Sad to say, I think this is something that takes practice lol.
Don't get me wrong, each time I had to tell a guy that I don't feel the same as he does, I get hurt too. I remember the first time a guy told me that he wanted to go out with me, I let in because I couldn't bring myself to tell him that I didn't care for him at all. But then things started going way too fast and when I finally broke it off, I think he felt more pain from breakup than pain from rejection. So overall, I learned not to do that again.
The second time, it was a close friend who confessed to me through IM, so right there I kinda had it easy since I didn't have to face him. But I remember almost typing down my "Ok" but then I stopped myself and remembered what happened to the first one and I didn't want him to go through that.
But overall, it's gonna be hard, especially if you care for that particular somebody.

girls like guys as friends. because other than just having things in common and good conversation, laughs etc..when guys compliment us... we feel good..like a girl...we like to feel desired...we just dont want our guy friends to actually hit on us. I dont find it difficult to reject immediately though if i'm involved, engaged, married...then its completely easy to do so.
when girls compliment us
its like reinforcement that we're looking good but its not the same feeling. o.
guys have a difficult time being just friends and we girls keep thinking it can happen. so yeah its hard to reject a guy friend unless he makes it absolutely clear he wants only to talk about sex or wants it. once that's out in the open...it's a lot easier to 'reject' or give up trying to be friends.
peace

I definitely do not want to hurt anybody's feelings, ever. I think guys can tell by my actions / reactions if I am not romantically interested; it is kind of obvious... (No converstion necessary...)
