Dani, Four of my dogs were sick this week. I took two of them to the vet on Monday, and he tested for everything, and could find no cause. He told me it was just a good clean virus..Well, each day another began with the diarrhea and vomiting...I couldn't get them to drink, and they were becoming dehydrated, so I boiled chicken livers in a lot of water, and they drank that broth pretty well..The next day I boiled beef bones in water, and they drank that broth, and the next day I used chicken necks..Anyway, the rice the vet recommended just made them sick, but they held down Campbell's Select healthy soup..low sodium and low fat..beef with barley..That actually gave them energy, and they began recovering...Finally, on Friday, the first two began getting better..ALL are well as of yesterday..and what a relief!
The vet said that in the spring these viruses go around..These four dogs had never been ill before, but I guess it was just their turn..Your dog may not have the same, as you didn't tell why he is ill, but thought there might be something there you could use.

The only thing you really can do is to go to your gun drawer and give Beethoven his final shot....to the head :(
nah i'm just kidding
i think if its just coughing then it will probably get better. If it's looks pretty bad then maybe the vet will know what to do.
And sometimes dogs get weird illnesses like when i went on a camp for the weekend we took our dog and he got something on his foot(infection of some sort) but when he came back he was fine almost straight away. my mum thinks it's something psychological

A vet visit is in order, are your aware of the dog food recall?
If not may want to rule it out as a possible cause, it affects many brands of canned foods and wet foods sold in foil pouches

Did your dog eat any the wet can food that was in the pet food recall? If so you need to take him to the vet immediately.

You don't list any symptoms, but either way, if he was fine and is suddenly ill, he needs to go to the vet. ASAP.

aaaawwww!!!! thats so sad!!! i think if you feel he is badly ill than you should probly go to the vet A.S.A.P. if you think it might be just something he ate you might see how he is in the morning and then take it from there.
