a guy at gnc once told me that you do cardio first because it gets your body (after 15min) into a fat burning zone due to your heart rate. then weights because your muscles need to rebuild so it constantly will be working out long after you stop unlike cardio where as you stop so does your body.

One of my trainers said that it didn't really matter which one you did first not unless one was more important to you than the other. If you want more out of your cardio then do it first. Like wise if you want more out your weight training then do that first. The reason behind this is that you will always have more energy for the training that you will do first. Which I find is true cause if I spend one hour performing high intensity training then I find that my energy is low and cannot put much effort into anything else that follows.
Also if you are short on time try circuit training. It works for a lot of people cause you get to do weight and cardio in a single session.

It makes sense to do at least a little bit of cardio first as this warms ur muscles up and makes them more flexible and less prone to injury which can be easy to do when lifting weights

I have an amazing trainer. He has me warm up for 5 mins on the bike, then lift. After lifting, you have to EAT within 30 mins, if u want to put on muscle. Do cardio separately, later that day, or on a diff day.

I have always been under the impression that you do cardio first. My instructor has always had me bring my heart rate up on one of the cardio machines, then stretch , followed by weight training , more cardio annd cool down stretch... maybe it just depends on the outcome you want to acheive..
