In engineering, electromechanics combines the sciences of electromagnetism of electrical engineering and mechanics.
Electromechanical devices are those that combine electrical and mechanical parts. These include electric motors, loudspeakers and mechanical devices powered by them, such as calculators and adding machines; switches, solenoids, relays, crossbar switches and stepping switches.

Basically this Technology is mix of two different technology. This concept was demonstrated by Farady when he observed "Force acting on a current carrying conductor when placed in a magnetic field" .
This concept was applied where electrical energy is leading to mechanical energy. Hence this is called Electromechanical energy.
