I am sad more days than i am happy. I am sad a lot of the time.
When i get reaally sad i scratch my arms till it bleeds just to take my mind off it, and to feel something other than emotional crap.
I dont even have a reason to be that sad. my parents seperated and my best friend moved, but that was ages ago, now i think i am just paranoid, that my friends hate me, but i cant shake the thoughts. I also hate going to school, and my parents are always trying to get me to do stuff on the weekends but i just want to be alone.

I've down the whole counselling thing, worked for a while, got over it then sunk back into the sadness

I think you should continue getting counseling. You can find a new counselor, but I really think that you should continue getting help. As much as we'd like it all to be over with, sometimes it's a longer process than we think. Good luck.

I feel for you, I have been in the same boat - though I've never scratched or cut - I've been in a major depression that lasted nearly 2 years. I know that the counseling thing isn't always needed, because it's not always an "issue" you are dealing with but a chemical imbalance and you probably need some medication to help pull you out of the funk you are in before you really harm yourself. If you have a psychiatrist you need to be totally honest with them about what is going on and what you are doing to yourself. Please call a doctor or tell your parents as soon as you possibly can.

Even though you've been to counseling already you should go back. Talk to your parents. They may freak out but they are wonderful support. They will help you. Even though you may not want to do stuff you have to make yourself. I know how it is to cause yourself pain just to feel something different. You need to find a way to heal yourself. Find something that makes you happy. Best of luck.

you need a hobby to obsess yourself with rather than obsessing over your own mental anguish. do something you've never done before but have an interest in, but not drugs or alcohol. if you keep your mind occupied with thoughts that don't have to do with your sadness, and actions that are productive instead of destructive (harming yourself) eventually you'll forget, but this can take months depending on how willing you are to break out of your depression. there are no healthy quick fixes for depression. you need to take every day as it comes.

You are probably suffering from depression, most people who suffer from it do have good lives & also feel guilty for being the way they are. You cannot help it, depression is a disease. Counselling works for some people with depression, but others do have to take meds to help with these feelings.
Ask your mom to take you to the doctor for a re-evaluation, since counselling didn't work for you.

well,when you are sad ,try not to be hurt yourself.....try to do something else.......make your mind to have a rest....
Example:
1. jog until you feel tire ...then take a shower and sleep...
2.Do homework
3.Do house chores....
you are feeling sad because you try to run away from yourself and also from the world......
don't make yourself to be alone in most of the time.....try to find some hobby and fill up your time ......you can do everything you like as long as it is legally activity
your parents is try to help you......they don't want to make you alone because when someone is alone ...they will feel lonely and start thinking about all the sadness had happened around her/him.....
last thing ....try not to hurt yourself...when you are suffer in problem or trouble,find somebody to talk to....not to keep in your heart and run away from the problem.....it will make you more sad.....

Think happy thoughts. You are safe enough to be sad about nothing. Everything depends on you. Lots of other people need you to be there for them. Pray for them and spend the time with your parents. If you love them, and you do, you should sacrifice your own desire to be alone and trust your time to them.

i have a son thats in the same boat. you would be surprised how your parents seperating can affect you...sadly for the rest of your life. you need to go talk to a counselor and also your family. i hope you feel that you have family that loves you and supports you. and if you want an email buddy with the same issues, email me for my sons email address. good luck, your not alone.
