County records should have a death certificate. I lists cause of death, Sorry for your loss

A death certificate will have the primary cause of death listed, as well as the contributing factors if there were any. The county should have the records.

It may not tell you what you want to know. Death records often list cardiac failure as a cause of death without saying if it was due to another condition or if there was a history of heart trouble. At least it will give you a place to start if your family can't or won't supply the information.
