There are many accounts in the Bible, which employ a literary device used by Jewish Old and New Testament writers called Midrash. Midrash is the substantive of the Hebrew word darash which means to search, to investigate, to study and, also, to expound on the fruits of the research. The aim of Midrash is to draw from Scripture a lesson for the present.
Midrash could also be defined as a "reflection on Scripture in the light of the actual situation of God's people and of the developments of God's action on its history." It proposes to explain the meaning of Scripture in the light of the later historical experience of God's people. This kind of interpretation often opened the door to embellishments of the sacred accounts, anachronisms, and a freedom in handling and maneuvering the data of tradition that were at times a little too candid and certainly very imaginative.
A good example is the Midrashic story of Noah and the flood. It is the divine message, which is important, (God saves his children from evil) not the literal account of the story.
May the Lord's peace be with you!

There is a story that King David did not understand the purpose on Gods earth of the spider. It was resolved for him as follows. When he was being chased by Saul he hid in a cave and a spider came and weaved a web on the cave's entrance. When Saul's men passed the cave they saw the spiders web and said that he couldn't be inside seeing as the web was unbroken. All creatures have a purpose known by God. Otherwise you may as well ask why God created the mosquito at all.

I'm sure you mean that why does sin still cover the earth after God washed away the sin He despised by bringing the flood in the first place. Yes?
Mosquitoes, consider them the demons around us, they will not go away without eating garlic, or spiritually, praying and seeking God. Mosquitoes hate the smell of garlic, I'm not being superstitious, just ask any Minnesotan. By praying and believing in Christ every day delivers you from those demons around you that want to cause you harm, either by disease or death.
Just keep being close to God, I know you have heard of Him and how to follow Him, since you ask this kind of question.......better yet, start going to church and make some good friends there.

maybe the mosquitos just hitched a ride on some other animal... or... since the world was covered with water, it's like a giant stagnant water container that mosquitos like to lay their eggs in.
anyway, mosquitos don't cause the disease, they just carry it around. back then, there probably isn't as much disease as we do now.

The mosquitoes came on by themselves. Noah had bug spray and everything. They just were good fliers.

There were no mosquitoes at the time, they evolved later from Mesopotamian Rattle snakes, hence the poison.

He didn't, those are the only b astards i will kill. You can bet your socks, they sneaked on board, just as they sneak up on us. Hell I even found them hiding in shoes and keyholes, just waiting for me to sleep, before they could drink my blood dry.
