It seems to happen predominately when it is cool outside. I have brought it to a couple repair shops and they have run diagnostics on it but the best they can tell me is the fuel components I have already replaced (filter, pump, plugs and I ran a cleaning system through). There is typically no warning, it will just crank over numerous times and not fire. Occasionally, it will start after trying to crank 5-10 times. Any ideas??

coil pack might be cracked test this out by hair dryer on the coil pack. if you do this befor you get it started after cranking it over and over and it starts up after hair dryer then its crack sometimes you can't see it cracked and was warm when you had it looked at and the diagnostics would not pic up on this prob.something to try.

Well, I do know some things about cars, but not alot. I own a '97 Pathfinder and I haven't experienced this (yet). I went to an auto parts store and bought a repair manual for Nissan Pathfinders for years ranging from 1997-2001. It's called Haynes Repair Manual and they're about $20 and worth every penny! You can troubleshoot what's wrong with your vehicle and it gives you all of the possible causes for the problem, and it even tells you exactly how to fix certain things step by step. There's also pictures. I love the manual and it actually taught me alot about cars! I hope you get the problem fixed!

pump relay sticks or no spark when cold. see if it has spark when it dose not start. if not check all ground wires. and then go on to biger things like sensors and coil packs.
