Since you found it in your yard I presume it's a wild duckling ? In which case the best thing to do would be to get it to a wildlife rehabilitation center as it's illegal to have a wild bird in your possession without the proper licensing. If they look like http://www.livingwilderness.com/wildlife/bducks.html they are young mallards or if the look like http://www.naturescapes.net/portfolios/displayimage.php?pos=-2244 it's a baby wood duck , Since you didn't say where you were I Ive but those are usually the 2 most commonly found ones in many parts of North-America.
If you don't know where the closest wildlife rehab center is you can call your local vet / humane society or check http://www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/contact.htm
Don't feed it bread, bread is bad for birds and even more so for young ones. Low nutritional value = malnutrition, can get stuck in their crops, cause respiratory problems, etc. Don't try and give it a bath...If he doesn't have his adult plumage on the body he's probably not 100% waterproof and can catch cold. For food if you happen to have some duck/ duckling feed around that's the best. But for now give a wildlife rehab center a call and go from there.

Good luck

Game bird starter crumbles. You can buy them from a farm supply or feed and seed. Housing should be a big box in the front room. Honestly, one duckling, keep it inside away from predators and out of the weather. Room temperature should be fine for a five week old duck. Make sure to have plenty of water available for it too.

Hoping the best for the little one.

bread crumbs ,duck weed ,crushed corn ,chicken feed
but what they love above all else is
SNAILS
have it in a box near the kitchen or inside .young stuff like that gets eaten by cats or killed by dogs
dont get it wet young ducklings will die easily if they get wet ,because they need the mother to dry them

they get very tame ,much more than chickens and will end up following you arround everywhere

the fun wears of when their poop becomes the size of a doughnut(small doughnut)

have a 40wat light bulb in the box to give heat
