I know it may seem like you are never going to get past this right now but you need to give your heart a break from all this emotion. What you need to do is to step away from the scene. Get away from this person and have some time to clear your head. Take a weekend trip somewhere and keep your mobile phone off the whole time!! Do you know how this person feels about you? What if they feel the same? then you are both agonising over something that you both want. If you know that there is no feelings on the other persons behalf stop hurting yourself by being intimate. Its obviously not sex without strings and dont worry, not many people can do that. Sit down and really think about this - so you still love this person or do you love what you and this person had?

Time is a good answer but probably not what you want to hear now. You didn't say WHY you have to let go. I would guess that is where you will find your answer. I mean there are a million reason and every answer to your question would be different. Think about it.
Why do you have to let go?
The person is moving to another country and you can not possibly go?
Do they have an addiction that you can not possibly live with?
Your religions forbid you to be together?
The other person is getting married?
See what I mean? Wouldn't your answers to all those scenarios/situations be different.
Possibly you could re-post your question in order to get what you are looking for?

just open your eyes and realize why she isn't the right one. Play the right music to keep your mood upbeat, and remember you are worth more. Think about what it will feel like when you find the right one, and laugh about the fact that the one you were with is missing out on a great thing! Seize the day, love life, and find that girl that fits everything you are looking for, and that isn't going to use you!

having there myself its not easy if you still have feeling for this person then you may not be over them if you still intimate with them you will find it harder trust me but if you really dont want to go down that track again you will know it let your heart guide you ....

Just let go. Letting go doesn't mean that you'll instantaneously forget everything in a person that you've spent your time for a long time.
