DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. It happens on my pc after its off for a few hours or so. I can restart it when i get on it but i can shut it off and then go back on like 4 hours later unless i do something to get it going. You may have a registry corruption or amissing file. Use your Windows disc to run a repair on the system.

If you're sure there is no floppy disk in the drive and there's no CD in the CD drive, then more than likely you've got one of two problems:

1) One of the drive cables is loose. Open the case (while the power is off) and reseat all of the drive connectors.

2) The drive is going bad. Since it's happening after a while, it could be heat related.

If your floppy or CD is in the drive when you are trying to start the PC this kind of an error occurs. Remove these and restart. If this is not your problem will recheck.

It sounds like the hard drive is tripping up. It could be just a hardware problem where something is disconected or the hard drive could be failing. First back up everything on your computer then let someone you trust look at it unless you have waranty.
