My soon to be husband took me to my favorite place in the whole world. It is kind of a special place to me. The end of the rock Jeddy at the beach near where we live. When we walked down to the end just like any other walk down there was a picnic with champagne the whole nine. So as we watched the sunset and had our picnic (I thought the picnic was all) He told me there was no one on the earth he would rather watch the sunset with. Then he asked if I would watch every sunset with him for the rest of our lives. Then he busted out with a rock that no one could say no to =)

My husband knew about a child hood story where I begged to open a Christmas present early and all my friends were over. I go to and it was a pink padded bra and matching panties(I was about 8 at the time ant utterly mortified). It has been a joke for a long time because I never was eager to open any other presents early. At Christmas I figured I should be getting my ring as did everyone else as well had talked about it and I had asked that he wait until AFTER my cousins wedding was over. She was married in September and by December everyone knew we had been looking at rings(very small town). So with everyone around I opened my present it was black and see thru(for once I found myself wishing for the pink padded bra and panties) my friend knew the ring was in the box but because it had been moved around it was in the bottom. So she says well let us all see hold it up (As I have grown into a very good sense of humour and thick skin)I yanked it right out of the box and something shiny got my eye as it flew thru the air and I heard it cling on the floor. There was my ring. When everyone stopped laughing my husband picked it up and proposed.

I don't have that "amazing" story but it's nice.
We had been living together for a little while. He took a job from PA to N NJ and met his dad for lunch to see if the offer was good enough to uproot and do. He called to tell me he was accepting the job (at work). He said "My dad asked me what I was going to do with you" I said "yes what are you going to do with me" he replied I told him I was marrying her.
My boss said that wasn't a proposal so if I didn't show up tomorrow with a ring, it was not true.
Well after dinner that night he dropped to one knee and asked. 14 years later -- with 3 kids.. I'd say we did alright.
Oh, we married on the Island of St. Thomas :)

ha ha. my boyfriend had been acting really weird all day, purposely being really horrible to me and very sarcastic. then at about 10 that night i got fed up and started yelling at him. i told him that i had no idea what his problem was and until he figured it out i was staying at my mothers house. so i packed up a bag and stomped to the door.
as i got to the door he was behind me and said 'just wait a sec, i've got something to ask you' so i turned around, glaring, and there he was, down on one knee... he said 'I love you and i want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me?' and he had this exact ring i had described to him in feb. (it was september when he proposed) i was utterly shocked. i was just standing there for a good few minutes speechless, saying 'omg. omg. omg. what did you say? where did you get that?' etc finally i said 'yes of course'.
i rang my mum up straight away and told her. it turns out that he had shown her the ring a week ago and properly asked their permission. it was so sweet and very like him. he had planned to get me really angry and suspicious. the prick. lol.

Sort of, but not down on his knees. I knew he had never asked another girl to marry him because of this. One day he told me that the following weekend we would go down to the store (Montgomery Ward) and pick out engagement/wedding band set. After we did - (it was still in the box), we went to my sister's house and showed her (my mom and dad had moved out of state to care for my dad's mom). Before we went in, My husband (then my fiance', at the time of course) said "let's go in and show them the ring". Then I gently pulled him back in the car and said, "Don't you think you should ask me something first and then put the ring on my finger?". Then, stammering, he said (mimicking "Rocky Balboa"), "You Would'nt kinda like ta marry me, wouldja?". I laughed, he laughed - of course I said yes. Then he put the engagement ring on my finger and we went inside and showed my sister and her husband.
