Global Warming in the Bible?

Revelation 16:8 says "The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was given power to scorch people with fire."

Do you think this is referring to global warming? Any other passages that could be related to global warming?

You can make Revelation mean a lot of things, on purpose or by accident. That's why it's such good prophesy material. What it all really means, we'll only find out when the time comes. That is, if we're not too distracted by our hair being on fire.

Burning people with fire is speaking in terms of the burning, or suffering one goes thru when they are forced to change their assumptions because they have neglected to do it on their own, and thus truth is painful to them because they love a lie, but the lie must be "burned" away, as all temporary things must die, so too do human fancy and imaginings when they are not concordant with the truth. Sun references the the qualities of the person(s) given Holy Spirit upon the world of mankind inwardly, like that of the symbol of the physical sun to the earth. Its warmth energizes life, its light brings illumination to the seeing eye etc. So the symbolism of the sun, an allusion to the rising of Spiritual forces to its zenith of precipitous change, has ever been used to connote the power of the Day of God.

So no it doesn't refer to global warming per se IMO, but it is like a long winter is ending, and the flood change is climatic. If people would work together this would cease to seem a problem, but a means of reminding people of their interdependence, which is something that has been unconsciously wanted for a long time.

Global warming is different. The sunlight doesn't increase, but the atmosphere traps heat, known as the greenhouse effect.
