How long were Adam and Eve in the Garden?

Where they alone or where their others?

Please explain the notion of time to an eternal being?

All you have is a measure from Jesus to Adam or Adam to Jesus.

God created the heavens and the earth. Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden not expelled to a newly created Earth.

Where is the Garden of Eden? On Earth?

Answer: It is easily to add up generations and get a number between Adam and Jesus. But that number has nothing to do with the age of the earth.

There is revelation and there is science. You get into trouble using techniques from one applied to the other.

ALERT back! The Bible was written by Select men chosen by God and most important, INSPIRED by God! If God can create all, don't you think for a second that He is in control of all, especially His Word? The manual He left for us to live by on this earth until the end of this earth as we know it? Ye of little faith. Sorry, this is a response to another answer. But in ans the question: You seem to have the yrs right, but what's with the 1000 yr reign that you put on the calender in your own time? Jesus is coming soon, no doubt to set up His Millenial Kingdom for 1000 yrs, but we do not know exactly when, so how do you? The Bible says no one knows the day or hr when Christ returns (2nd coming), except the Father in Heaven. We cannot set dates - The Lord told us not to in His Word!! The 6000 yrs, well you did the geneology, and ans your own question. Should've stopped before the 1000 yr. Read the Bible. Read Revelation on the 1000 yr reign. The Rapture and Tribulation come first anyways.

The assertions of lifespan in years is ridiculous enough in the narrative of the Old Testament. Methusela lived 960 years! Adam lived well past 100! If one accepts there are no gaps in the storyline from Adam to the reign of Augustus, Imperator and Pontifus Maximus, Ceasar, pro Counsul of Rome then we have a hard time totalling up 7,000 years.

The time frame you have is from the time Adam had children. Doesn't any one know how long Adam and Eve were in the garden of Eden before they disobeyed. Does anyone ever think about things like that? Or how long Adam was alone in Eden, before God even created Eve. Everyone assumes that God created Adam and Eve and the next day they were cast out.

When Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit, that is when their age begin. Before that, they were to live forever. Adam could have been here 10,000 years before Eve came along. Eve could have been here another 10,000 before they disobeyed. No one knows how long except God.

Another thing, the bible tells us that one day to us is like a thousand to God. So maybe it took him literally 6000 years to create the earth.

The assumption is based upon Genesis, where they interpret those sevn days as beginning right at the beginning. I do not. I believe in the Gap Theory of Genesis 1:1 - 1:2.

Believers who take the Bible literally add up the numbers just as you did and come up with that figure because they are assuming that when God created everything it was done according to the description in Genesis. Day one, day two etc. I am a Christian but I do not take the Bible literally in every sense because it is not as many say..logical. To my way of thinking (and scripture will back me up), God is a timeless being who had no need to do anything one day, two days etc. If he took billions of years to do it, it would not matter in the slightest to him as time has no meaning to him (so the Bible says) I would suggest instead that the description in Genesis was mans understanding (perhaps all he could understand at the time) of what God did. If you read it carefully, you will notice that in many ways, the Genesis account is very similar to science at the beginning where it refers to the earth being covered in water etc. How could old time man know this if He wasn't inspired by God to know it?

Just plain crazy I guess. It sure does take all the power out of whatever else they may say. Doesn't do any good at all to prove you're an idiot before trying to convert people to your religion.

Huh? What are you asking? Are you asking what year people think it is? Or how many people were born from Adam to Jesus? Or...I dunno what you're supposed to be asking, or pointing out, or whatever that conglamoration of digits above me is.
