Yes this is a threat and yes the child has to have a mental condition and needs help. Do you watch the news?? Kids don't seem to mind shooting people these days so I would take it serious and call the police, doctor and a mental heath clinic. Don't let this go lightly take action you may save your life or someones else's or even the child's life..

Law enforcement is going to look at the totality of the circumstances. In and of itself, this threat, especially considering the boy's age ( yes, Virginia, thirteen year olds are still considered children , even post-MTV) . What will have bearing is the emotional state at the time ( juveniles are not expected to operate with full emotional maturity) , his history, his opportunity to perform such an act, etc. Chances are, unless the kid is a graduate of Lord of the Flies Elementary School, nothing will be done. However, a visit from law enforcement is almost always unpleasant. Just keep in mind, if he really is a miscreant, jerking his chain like that might make him unpleasant, too.

This person is a teenager now, not a child. In todays world you must always act with caution. If this is a on going problem then you need to take some kind of action. The teenager has some major issues. If they are all with you and no one else then you need to rethink why are you putting yourself in danger and why there seems to be such a problem with this kid and you. If this kid does it with everyone
he meets then his parents should seek some kind of major help. Regards of why he does it tho. He has a anger problem, and threating someone with any kind of weapon , would make me be on guard. He may or may not suffer from a mental disorder, it may stem back to alot of things in his life. He may just plain hate the world. That alone should be a concern for his family. Take him serious, better to do that , then not be able to wake up tomorrow.

The way that society is right now i wouldn't take any chance's.
I mean it's not like kids haven't killed before threats like this should not be taken lightly. If he does suffer from a mental disorder then that could be even worst by it being almost all serial killer's have some type of mental disorder..His parents should be contacted right away so that he can get some help.

It's a threat all right. It needs to be reported to someone. It depends when, where and how the threat was made. I mean if it's a teacher it needs to be reported to the principal, if at work reported to the boss etc. You never know if it's serious but in light of recent shootings you can't be too safe. Report it. If it's nothing then nothing will happen to him.

Yes it is a threat, and yes I would take it seriously because 13 year olds are quite capable of carrying something that out. I do hope for everyone concerned he does not have any access to a weapon. He may have a mental illness or he may be just plain nasty.

The police will definitely check it out. By law they have to take it seriously once you report it.
He could be mentally ill or it could be environmental. I live in a city and have seen children do violent things. They are capable of it! You don't want to say "will he" and find out "he will". Call the police and let them handle it. Good Luck!
