There isnt a lot of info you gave on all her symptoms. I suggest that you get info on schizophrenia first and see if you can get her help. She needs to be checked out by a doctor.

She may know she has a disorder and that may be the reason she is so defensive. This may be something she has kept secret.

Without medication, she can end up doing some crazy things.

My friend took in someone like this and ended up having to have the cops come take her away because she started threatening violence to my friends kids.

You may need to bypass trying to have her get help on her own. Check with her mother and others that know her well and you may have to have her committed. Dont be afraid to tell her mother what she has said.

Is her family shady ? She may not be crazy then. If she is so paranoid she may have the beginnings of schizophrenia depending on the level of paranoia. Maybe she just is in a bad situation with her family and needs to get out of there.

get her to write down her reasons and why she thinks her mother would do something like this. then you hold on to it. if anything ever happens take the paper to the police.

if this is true, you should take out a life ins. policy on your friend, that way you can at least get paid.

You do know we have police departments we're paying for to handle these matters.
