Running and riding a bike are aerobic exercises.

(1) The reason to do them before you weight train is to warm up

(2) The reason to do them after you weigh train is to lower the lactic acid buildup

In these 2 cases you do them lightly.

(3) The reason to do them on other days besides your weight training is to train your cardiovascular respiratory endurance

Both cardio and weight training are important, because the muscles you build by weight training yourself will improve your performance in aerobic activities and your cardiovascular respiratory endurance will allow you to do high intensity weight training.

Burns extra fat calories so that your muscle tone looks better. You could weight train and still keep the love handles etc. a long time as you build mass underneath fat tissues.
