I have been feeling unwell for about 3 months. During this time i have had a type of middle ear infection, heartburn which led to chronic gastritis/stomach ulcers, vestibular weakness on right side, and now low TSH Thyroid as shown on recent blood test. Apart from this i am getting the ongoing symptoms of lightheadedness, hot flushes over my body, dullness, inability to concentrate, fatigue, weakness, spaced out "high" feeling and the feeling as if im not in this world.

I have done brain MRI scan, Abdomen scan which were normal. I have also seen neurologist, ENT & had a gastroscopy done.

I have had numerous blood tests with results of normal blood count except for mild liver count (*93) which is now decreasing. I have also done testing for HSV, Hep B&C, HIV in which all were NEGATIVE. I did a blood test in mid January for Thyroid TSH which was normal but recent blood test show the TSH level is low. I dont know why?

Havent been able to work for 3 months and have not felt normal

Doctors i've seen believe it came from a virus that has not exited my system?

It all started with just tingling on the fingertips of my left hand and then all those symptoms just seem to have started.

If as you say "the doctors" believe the causative agent is a virus, have you had viral panel? If yes, what was the result? If no, then why not?

Please keep in mind that we really don't have doctors here. When their day is done they don't want to see more patients.

So you're left with me...

The only other virus that you can test for that would certainly cause weakness, fatigue, etc... is Epstein-Barr Virus. It's like the extended version of mono. Think of it as mono's cousin as they are not the same thing but in the same family. :) This may even be Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Definately see an otolaryngologist (otto-lair-in-gol-ogist) and have that ear checked as it can affect your balance. If you still have your tonsils? Then you really need to go. Tonsils are supposed to protect us from illnesses but can turn against us and do the opposite.

It is also possible that you're depressed and your body is reacting. I don't mean that you are imagining what you are feeling. Not at all. It's just an old line from a movie that I believe in: "When the mind is in pain the body cries out." It works both ways - of course you're going to be depressed if you feel like garbage.

So ask them to do an EBV test, keep searching for answers, obscure diseases, and try to do things to keep your spirits up. Such a difficult time, I know, but it will pass.

I answered I similiar question you had where I thought your symptom with a low TSH indicated hyperthyroidism.

Subacute thyroiditis (An inflamed thyroid gland, caused by a virus, that typically causes neck discomfort or tenderness near the thyroid gland. When the infection leaves, the condition improves.)

Most of your symptoms can be attributed to hyperthyroidism.

Symptoms can include:

* Muscle weakness so that it can be difficult to walk up stairs or lift heavy things
* Trembling hands
* Rapid heartbeat
* Tiredness/fatigue
* Weight loss even though you are eating normally or excessively
* Diarrhea or frequent bowel movements
* Irritability and anxiety
* Eye problems (irritated eyes or difficulty seeing)
* Menstrual irregularities
* Intolerance to heat and increased sweating

If doctors are saying it's a virus then they should be able to tell you the type of virus. if they can't explain a little of it then you need to see a real doctor not a quack. If it is a virus have you adenoids checked by a ear nose throat doctor. Your sickness could be reoccurring cause they are to big and so there for your not able to drain all the way and so another infection sets in but only worse than the first. but to tell the truth its very unlikely that is what it is but it wouldn't hurt to have them looked at along with more tests. I hope you get to feeling better. Another good thing to get looked at is Lupus there are diferent strands of it from minor to deadly. Consider it.

the lightheadedness, hot flushes over my body, dullness inability to concentrate, fatigue, weakness, spaced out "high" feeling. could possible be from blood sugar whether it is high or low. I'm hypoglycemic and i fell the same way when my sugar is low. when this happen if you feel unusually hungry or crave something sweet, this is probably going to be the problem. ask your doctor for a 4or8hr glucose tolerance test. this will answer alot of your questions.

it looks like you still have ear infection & it's causing you light headedness. another problem is your thyroid, you could probaby have toxic goiter. stop drinking alcoholic beverages. your affected liver might be manifesting these symptons, have an ekg test done for the heart too.goodluck.
