The only ASAPs you should apply to weight loss is "As Safely/Sanely/Sustained As Possible."
Yes, quick weight loss is often followed by weight gain. Often you'll gain back more than you lost.
Forget about the beach trip as a time frame for losing weight. Think more about the rest of your life - about losing the extra weight for life. Instead of thinking about how you'll look to the people on the beach next week think about whether your grandchildren will get to see you at all. I know it sounds a little over the top, but it's not. If you think it only happens to "somebody else" I've got news for you: I'm me. *You're* somebody else.

Totally cut out alcohol. (If you drink) If you drink everyday or alot. It's about 2,000 liquid calories.
Stop drinking soda. It's bloating. The sodium and sugar in it mades the water content in your body swell up and it makes your body have a harder time to lose.
When I totally stopped drinking pop, I lost three pounds in few days. Because it had been holding it in my body. The first few days after cutting out soda and sugary drinks, the weight loss is at it's fastest, then it gets slower.
Keep count of calories you eat. But don't obsess about it too much. If you eat healthy, you should be fine. But if you want some junk food. Keep count!
3,500 calories equals one pound. (One pound or two per week is the healthiest way to lose. unless you're cutting out pop and alcohol. it would be more per week.)
To lose one pound per week... If you're noticing you're gaining per week. Then you're eating too much. But if you seem to stay the same for a long time, that you have a stable diet. And you want to lose? Remove 3,500 calories from what you eat for a whole week or 500 calories less per day. Would be one or two pounds per week.
Always excerise off more calories than you eat. Most of the time it's good to excerise off 500 calories five times a week. The rest of the calories would be used up walking around, writing, talking, blinking, and staying awake. Calories aren't always bad. They help us operate and have energy.
But when are calories bad? When we eat more energy than we need. They're stored somewhere else in our bodies. Also don't eat any more of the "energy" about two hours before bed. We don't need to use them when we're sleeping, right? The body doesn't know what to do with the bonus energy. Only like 100 calories are necessary for us to sleep. So they're stored as fat. :(
If you are losing more than 2 pounds per week. (Like I said, unless you're cutting out pop/bad drinks) It is the bad kind of losing. You'll just gain it all back sooner or later. Yo-yo diet.
You said you only would eat fruit? That's not good, you need all the vitamins and stuff in your body to operate. Meat or nuts for protein, vegetables for vitamin B and A, fruits have like.. Vitamin E and other minerials. Living off water, vitamin E, and D, (from sunlight) doesn't sound very healthy. o_o
