Pray more that God will bring peace to your family and less for being successful in the world. God might give you both, but for now put peace amongst the family first and the other might follow.

No it is not selfish to wish good for those you care about.

no you are not sinful for asking God to bless your future and your family. The reason the "fighting" exists and it feels like your family is "falling apart" is because you have an enemy called satan that loves to disrupt prayers and God's plan for your life. It is God's good pleasure to give you all good things to enjoy but satan will not sit idly by and let that happen without a fight. Keep praying and believing and don't let satan win by "backing off" in your prayer life.

It is never sinful to pray. It is though, a sin *not* to pray. Pray regardless of what your family is doing. It sounds as if they're fighting, because satan doesn't like the fact that you're praying for them. Thumb your nose at satan, and continue to pray anway.

While you're praying, ask God to keep satan away from you, and your family. Also, while you're praying, claim the Blood of Jesus, and ask Him to cover you, and your family to keep the demons away.

Whatever you do, keep praying.

I hope this helps.

What is successful to you? What do you think Gods will is for you? Is it that you get rich and live comfortably with your family? Perhaps He wants you to live humbly and be a missionary and be single.....and this will be successful under Christ because His plans and purposes are for good. God did not make all His children to be wealthy and famous and powerful in society. God chastens those He loves and there will be trials. Keep praying for you family. Pray to the Father with thanksgiving and ask for what you need giving Him your cares and worries and ask in the name of Jesus

Everything material comes from and returns to the dirt of the earth and only the spiritual things can be stored in heaven. Perhaps the reason your family is falling apart is that they are dying of spiritual starvation. Do you regularly study the Bible together? Do you include insightful comments about the sort of person God is in your discussions with them? Do you regularly share together in helping others learn about God? Is personal Bible study an example you set for all of them on a daily basis?

I'm not catholic so I may not be quite familiar with the nature of your question. I'd say, pray about what's on your mind so that God can give you solace. I'm very sorry to hear that your family is having difficulties at the moment. I'll pray for them too.

There are some rules about prayer and spells that I think you are missing. Your prayers are your hopes, thoughts and feeling that you are sending to (place or deity of choice) to try to influence the outcome of a situation. This is very powerful and it will work. But, you don't have the right to try to control the outcome for someone else. Golden Rule, Do unto others..., And if you hurt none - do as you wish. Do you want someone trying to control you?

I know you mean well and want what is best for them but when you try to include them in your circle of control, it will backfire. Concentrate on you.

'Prayer' rectifies *your* mind.

This is an important idea. 'Success' in your life will be determined only by you, but keeping your family in mind in a constant loving way is very important.

There is no sin in that.

Edit:

There is 'sin' in *expecting* something from your family in regards to your 'success'. I think that is another important thing to realize.

peace

Romans 8:28.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those that love him.

Even harsh things will be to your benefit in the long run. People are people and we can not control and God Will not control their actions. They must choose their path.
