well I try and buy my hubbie flowers whenever I can afford it but, ild rather get him potted flowers. they dont die (well at least not as fast). hers a story for you. It must have been my lucky night , i went to my local grocerie store and the manager there was throwing away the older flowers, they still looked pretty nice. He asked me if I wanted them. I said yes. I was handing out flowers to everyone I could think of. I went to my job, told them what happened and gave all the ladies a bunch of flowers. It was soooo cool to be able to do that.

Living over in Okinawa, Japan (been here over 2 years) I have "had" to send many many bouquets of flowers to family and friends when they're going through tough times and happy times because I can't be there for them in person, (my teenage sister has gotten at least 2-3 because of "bad days" and one or more for congratulation occasions. My best friend got some while she was in the hospital after having her baby, and my cousin got some after her heart surgery. My brother got some when he was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia, and my mom, husband's mom, and grandmas all got some for both Mother's Days (the 3rd Mother's Day is coming up...). The last bouquet I sent was about a month ago. It was a large "garden" arrangement in a pretty blue vase to my spunky grandma that had just had a stroke. She's doing great today but she gave us all a pretty big scare.

Wow... I've never thought about how many flowers I've sent out to people. It's the easiest thing for me to do rather than send gifts through the mail and people love getting flowers!

About 3 days ago. I go for a long walk almost every day through our neighborhood and if a bush is blooming with lots of flowers, some of which are hanging over the sidewalk, I pick 3 or 4 and take them home for my husband. No cost but I do it to show my husband I still love him very much after over 20 years of marriage.

Last summer when I visited an elderly friend in another state.
I think it would be nice if all of us would give flowers more often. Flowers are for the living. Why wait for a funeral or hospital stay?

Birthdays come and go with friends and my family tree.
The one closest at my side and heart nine years strong,
is none other than my cat, Meow Meow, to whom I belong.
Scented baby carnations and tea roses melt her heart,
and that I've not skipped a year nor let us be apart.

We agree on how to celebrate her birthday, March 10.
She sniffs the best flower, then pulls it from her bouquet.
For her trust and loyalty, she earned two vases. Okay?
As for why she's so special, I tell all "She never lies!"
