Which picture is that? Which likeness is that? Is it the Nordic-looking guy throughout most of Western Europe and America, the Semitic-looking guy that's in the Eastern churches, the African Jesus in Africa and the Caribbean, or the Hispanic Jesus in Mexico?
Please tell me which one of these likenesses you think is the truth and is proof that he exists, simply because you can point to it and says 'He looks like that.'
Furthermore, representations of Jesus are NOT on the wall of EVERY church you go to. I actually suspect I've been to a wider variety of churches than you. I have been to plenty where there was no such thing, and plenty where the pictures looked patently different.
As an agnostic, I wouldn't mind proof seeing Jesus. Until then, though, I'll live my life by his good teachings and the good teachings of other wise men. I may not know what he looked like, but I'm aware of the good of what he taught, which I believe is far more important.

thats what i always thought. Why would a bunch of artists draw some fake dude right? And in all the pictures he looks the same. And like the first person said, how do they believe king tut existed even though there are no pictures of him?! And to all the people questioning why he had brown hair and light skin in all the pictures, he was middle eastern!

i'm no longer an athiest, i'm Catholic yet i imagine i visit respond to your question. it really is no longer a count number of if Jesus Chris "existed" persay. i don't believe of that there is fairly some historic doubt that a guy named Jesus existed. it really is a question of if Jesus replaced into fairly the son of God. there have been fairly some people for the period of that aspect who claimed to be particular in that type of way. If the church believed that he replaced into the son of God, then destroyed the texts that attempted to disprove that perception, it doesn't unavoidably bring about the top that God exists (or that Jesus replaced into the messiah) in person-friendly words that the Church believed that he replaced into and did not favor any assistance to be printed that can make one imagine in the different case.

ummm, sorry, but that is not a portrait of Jesus. But a "rendering" of what someone guessed him to look like. Strictly leaning on the Caucasian side of the coin.
His description is in the Book of Revelation
Revelation 1:13-15
13and among the lampstands was someone "like a son of man,"[b]dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. 14His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. 15His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.
If you can mentally picture this image, do so then look at the Shroud of Turin and realize its the same image.

The images of Jesus are lovely, but they alone do not prove He exists. The Bible is proof of His existence. Artists have attempted to capture His beauty or what they perceive to be His tenderness, but it's only a likeness. He exists in the hearts of those who love and accept Him by faith. He is really too wonderful to fully imagine. I do find some of the pictures comforting, especially the ones that depict Him as a gentle shepherd, beckoning the children to come unto Him.

A joke, right? (I hope so.) This would mean every mythical figure and creature ever drawn is proof of existence.
And no, Jesus in the flesh wouldn't do it, unless he did some tricks... er, I mean miracles; else it could be a look-alike, huh?

I don't even need to see the pictures of Jesus in a church to know he exsists. I have had way to many miracles in my life to disclaim the idea that Jesus is real.
