I always wondered what Asian women (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) women really thought about dating Filipino guys. Don't get me wrong, I got tons of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean friends and have dated all types of asian women. But for some reason I get the feeling that some other Asian women don't think very highly of Filipino men. I sometimes think that they have this attitude of thinking they are too good for us and that we are not in the same class as them as far as dating and social status is concerned.
I know all about the stereotypes of Filipino men. You know, the shaved head, ghetto clothing style, racing cars, break dancers, who at times are not articulate and can't speak proper english at times (steet slang).
I know that my friends wouldn't tell me in up front, but I don't really think they want to date Filipino guys because they think we are so ghetto. I'm just curious to know what other asian women really think.

Im Chinese and i think Filipino guys are so cute! But ive never been with them yet. Theres a lot of stereotypes of Filipinos like the ghetto ones and the hip hop/break dancers, but its true lol and its all good stereotypes. Anyway, i been in a high school with quite a bit of flips and they were mostly ghetto and some break dancer wannabes lol. And a lot of them speak tagalog and street slangs, but they can speak proper english, its just they dont prefer to. Im from a big city, so a lot of Flips usually would talk in street slangs rather than proper english. It all depends on where each person is raised. Also, they're pretty outspoken people and cool to be around with. So, dont think Asians look down on Flips because we dont! I think they're really talented people and fun to be with.
However in China, Filipinos have a lower social class and status. Most Filipinos in China would work as house servants. And its pretty common I heard. So, the Chinese there look at Filipinos much more differently than how the chinese americans look at the filipinos in the US.

haha good question. I've been wondering about this too lately. I'm a Filipina and for all my life, i've always LOVED and been attracted to Filipino guys haha i remember all my girlfriends would give me crap for that because of all those stereotypes you've just mentioned. Personally, i like Filipino guys because i'm somewhat of an old-fashioned girl...hey, that's how the parents raised us. Some guys will have those values and little "trademarks" and you can see it. There's the respect thing, family, etc...but lately, for some reason, i've just been so turned off by them. It seems that Filipino guys (the ones i've just run into) are want a girl with LOOKS and that's all that matters and yes the i've met some recently that are just "gangster" - honestly i think it's a girl thing...not really a cultural thing right now...you know how girls mature faster than boys and all you want them to be is preppy. Anyway, sorry to be ranting on but i know once guys "grow up" in general, it'll be fine...and yes, Filipino guys who do eventually grow up are such fine gentlemen! :)

Why don't you ask them yourself?! =) Head down to the below site and enter in your picture and personality profile. Then, search for all of the Asian women in your area. Find the ones that interest you, and shoot them an e-mail!
You'll find that this is one of the answers that you should go directly to the source for. Besides, as a dating consultant, I can honestly tell you that it's a lot more fun to talk to the women that you're interested in and not about them. Your social skills will definitely improve, as well as your confidence levels when talking to women. You don't want to be that deer in the headlights when you meet the woman of your dreams. Beautiful women want a man that stimulates their minds and bodies, plus is quick on his feet.

I am a white guy but my girlfriend of over 10 years in Filipino and she said that it is all in your head. The Filipino people are honest and hard working for the most part, and only want the best for themselves and there family's. Just keep your head up and you will be fine.

I'm asian and I don't mind dating Filipino men...actually I don't mind dating any raise as long as I like the guy. I don't think that's the case...I have a comple of my friends datting Filipino guys right now and there going strong. No, we don't think Filipino guys are ghetto....just play cool. best luck to you!

Hi. I'm Asian, one of the ethnicities, mentioned above. And there is a lot of truth to what you're saying. Breakdown is:
1. skin color - we tend to like light skin
2. social status - the Philllippines is not considered a country w/economic status and therefore slightly looked down upon, sadly, it's true
3. racial mixing - a lot of Fillippinos are mixed? they are considered people w/o true ethnicity

Maybe it's skin colour?
A lot of asians like pale skin, so they usually stick to their own or go for white guys.
